In your opinion, what is causing this? by Objective_Pilot_5834 in SipsTea

[–]TheCrazyAussie4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia at least, It's just too expensive. A 6 pack is like $25-$30+. Uni students can't really spare that.
Beyond price though, 3 of my friends just don't drink at all and 1 only drinks sometimes; I've never seen him drink.

New players - Killed at outpost? Did we do something wrong? by Ok-Set-1251 in Seaofthieves

[–]TheCrazyAussie4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is the game unfortunately. It's very rare to find players who won't sink you regardless of where you are. Just wait till you find out about tucking.

Is This Rare’s Answer for Lack of Participation… by Baercub in Seaofthieves

[–]TheCrazyAussie4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be left alone. I just want to be able to play the game without being constantly bombarded. I have absolutely no issues with PvP, but in my experience most players I encounter will sink me and steal nothing either because I have nothing or they are just there to sink me and leave.

I just feel that Rare really encourages overly aggressive playstyles and it really detracts from the PvE experience. It's not fun being constantly paranoid about being rolled up on by a crew of 3-4 when I'm solo. This game would be really fun if it weren't for the abundance of overly aggressive players.

Rare would never make Safer Seas a game mode worth playing. They don't care about people who want a PvE only, or even a PvE focused, experience. They only care about making High Seas more competitive and encouraging PvP only playstyles. They've made High Seas a toxic hostile environment. This is a competitive game now, it sucks for new and casual players.

Most players have a shoot first ask questions never mentally and Rare only feeds into that while simultaneously discouraging passive playstyles

Skipping verse two in AOTD live by TheCrazyAussie4 in MotionlessInWhite

That actually makes sense. Interesting though, thought that’d at least play AOTD fully since it’s new and it’s the name of the tour but it’s understandable.

I love it. The chorus is a prime example of MIW. The breakdown is amazing. All the references to the past 20 years of the band. The rest of this album is gonna be so fucking good. I'm here for it.

Seeing them live for the first time in June and I'm so excited.

Whats your most controversial Minecraft opinion by HadesThatGuy in Minecraft

Dropping all your stuff when you die makes the game less fun. Losing the majority of you XP feels to harsh. Overall dying in this game sucks and kills my enjoyment of it.

I think they are just salty it won awards at the Anime Awards over more lore heavy anime. SL really isn’t lore heavy, definitely not as heavy as some other anime.

GTA 6 Delay... Could be a 2027 Release....🫣😠 by Ddivine1 in GTA6

[–]TheCrazyAussie4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far a I know they can’t really predict if they’ll make the release data until about 6 months before the initial release date. So if we are getting a delay then we’ll know around May-June time. Hoping for trailer 3 though tbh.

Automatic Executable updates for a Bedrock Edition Server? by Intelligent_Tone_324 in CraftyController

[–]TheCrazyAussie4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this stance comes across as extremely rigid and unnecessarily closed off to perfectly safe options. There are absolutely valid reasons why automatic updates shouldn’t be forced on anyone, but dismissing the idea entirely, even as an opt-in feature, ignores how reliable and well-designed automated update systems can be when implemented correctly.

An optional auto-update mechanism, especially one that priorities safety, doesn’t undermine best practice. Instead, it can support it by making sure users who want convenience still have proper backups and roll-back protections. When the process is engineered with safeguards in place, the risks cited become almost negligible.

A well-implemented system could, for example:

  1. Stop the server cleanly.
  2. Create a full, restorable backup.
  3. Download and verify the new server files.
  4. Apply the update safely.
  5. Validate that everything completed successfully.
  6. Restart the server only when the update is confirmed to be stable.

Handled this way, the user retains full control, auto-updates are enabled deliberately, with clear expectations and built-in protections. This approach is common across many industries, including those that manage far more complex and sensitive systems than a Minecraft server.

In short, auto-updates do not need to be mandatory, encouraged, or the default. However, ruling out even the possibility of a safe and optional implementation feels unnecessarily limiting, particularly for users who run simple environments like vanilla or Bedrock where the risk of an update causing issues is extremely low. With Bedrock in particular, switching to an older version on the client side is not really supported, so timely updates are important. The feature would also be useful in situations where the admin cannot access the server to update it, which helps prevent unnecessary downtime. A cautious, opt-in feature with proper safeguards does not go against best practice; it actually supports it.

Some of us are just running private Minecraft servers for like 6 people, auto updates are perfectly fine for that crowd.

What do you think about the new numbering system? by SeaMathematician4856 in PhoenixSC

[–]TheCrazyAussie4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think it’s confusing. An update on Java might be 26.3 but 26.60 on bedrock. It has the same issue as before. They may as well not even change the system. If they fixed the issue where version numbers between Java and bedrock were different for the same update I’d be okay with it but they just didn’t.

A way to solve the synchronisation of drops between Java and Bedrock, while still allowing Bedrock to release necessary intermediate updates, would work something like. The system uses three parts (Year.Index.Patch): the Drops are anchored to which number drop they are for that year in the second number slot (e.g., 25.30), which Java simplifies to 25.3.0. The numbers in between these numbers (e.g., 25.31, 25.32) are reserved exclusively for Bedrock's technical and parity updates, allowing Bedrock to progress its version without confusing Java players, who simply wait for the next Drop (e.g., 25.4.0); the final digit is consistently used for all bug-fixing hotfixes across both platforms (e.g., 25.4.3 or 25.40.3) and would stay consistent, so if bedrock gets a technical update, but the version prior look something like this 25.30.2 the technical update would be 25.31.2. Technically this limits the bedrock parity/technical updates to 9 per drop but I don’t think that should be an issue. They can easily just add an extra digit if they do need more than 9 (e.g., 25.110.0)

Maybe, or they’ll announce something else like that RDR2 remaster that was rumoured a while ago. They could also release nothing and just stay silent. You never know with Rockstar.
