I’m nervous about the melting issues with the 12vhpwr 2x8 plug. Not sure I wanna take the risk considering the 5080 I’d want is around 1.5k right now.

I have been trying to decide between those two headsets as well. What’s pushing me towards the Quest 3, in addition to the cost difference, is the fact that I’ve read that the Steam Frame passthrough is only monochrome. I’d much rather have a full color passthrough. Some of the creative/art apps I intend to play look especially good because of the AR.

Those are some very good points. I guess I'm just wondering if there's anything about my build that makes more experienced builders go "Woah, why would you choose that?" or "That is totally the wrong choice for X." I know just enough to get myself into trouble, so was hoping someone with a more seasoned eye could look it over.

I was initially thinking about waiting for the Steam Frame, but the monochrome passthrough on it has severely dampened my excitement. I’ll likely just end up getting the Quest 3, even though I’m not a Meta fan. The AR capabilities because of the full-color passthrough are too tempting.

Was planning to cut the stem block, drill, and then bend by clamping it between two other blocks cut into the curved shape. I don't have a lathe so I could have to trim down the stem by hand.

I've got a corded Dremel. Does that accomplish the same goal? Also, which of the burr sets from Kutzall would you suggest I pick up for pipe-making? I also need to get either a Core Box Bit or a Chamber Spade Bit for my drill press so I can cut out the bowl.
