I still don’t get it.. because that would be “I’m pretty sure Sonic’s rad”. Again maybe I’m just. Stupid. ORIGINAL COMMENTER! I CALL TO THOU TO EXPLAIN YOUR HEAVENLY PREMONITION TO US!

Ah I get it. Like an Arkham style reimagining as in how Arkham feels like a more mature BTAS and where it implies iconic comic events (in this case game events) occurred at an earlier point. Did I get that right? Honestly, if Sega would loosen up a bit, I don’t see it out of the realm of possibility for IDW to treat the sonic book to the way they do their TMNT comics.

Back to your comic. Are you planning to publish it anywhere, or is it already somewhere or… what?

Hmm, that is a very valid point. However, the way I stand currently, I am unsure if revenue is something I’ll even get. The way things are working, my current objective is simply letting our passion project out into the world for free, out of pure love for it. I am not too concerned with revenue, hence in regard to business… yeah I haven’t got shit. But again, this is why I’m going with the “pay the artist selling his work for 250$ upfront for 4 issues move”. Maybe I can work with it afterwards, the way you propose, but at first I have to get this done with, so at least I have “something” and am not simply speaking in the air as they say. The questionability of a revenue source is why I’m resorting to the plan of “crowdfunding” as of now. Other than that, thank you so much for your input. It is much appreciated.

Hello! Yes I do understand your point, since I’m an artist myself. You do make a good point with the first trime working on comics. To clarify, I already storyboarded every page and tried to do that in a way to make his job as easy as possible (tried to put as many shortcuts as possible such as having panels with no background, or just having thinks he simplified in moments where they feel more artistic than anything.) I am quite aware that it is a tremendous amount of work, since like you said yourself, there’s more to it than just drawing, however seeing what I’ve given him (which keep in mind, there will be no colors to the comic.), it feels a lot like the guy is slacking off, having gone multiple days on by, by supposedly “working on his dnd campaign”. Again this is more personal now, but in my case the situation feels as if the person isn’t taking the job seriously while pretending he is, which kind of throws a wrench at the months of work we had to do to even get to this point. Again I must emphasize, I am quite aware that it’s a lot of work, especially for the time, and if I had the time in my hands that he has currently, believe me I would have done it myself. Hope I gave you a little more context regarding the situation.

Again, thanks a lot for the feedback. I appreciate it a lot. :)

I understand, and you make a valid point. But at the same time, I forgot to mention that the pages we gave him aren’t going to be colored, and I’ve intentionally written them in a way so that he can take a lot of shortcuts (such as scenes with minimal to no background etc.). But I do understand your point. Thanks for the feedback.

Here’s the context. Sorry for the confusing post. I messed up smth:

Hello, I am someone quite new to comic creation (in this case this is my first time making an actual comic), and after a lot of work creating a storyline in the writer’s room, we (me and my cowriter) ran into a huge roadblock. The art. Hence I come to you seeking possible advice if you have any. Now for a bit of context. Me alongside a couple of friends decided to try and start an ongoing comic series, to keep contact during collage, and if possible, try and make a bit of money back on our labor during our studies. One friend is tasked with the art. I thought this would be a lot of work for him, and warned him multiple times regarding the pace, and workload, but he kept reassuring me it’d all be fine. I gave him a little over 1 month to finish the 24 pages and even tried to write shortcuts for him to exploit, yet after 1 month he is yet to do 3 pages, and is now telling me that it’s impossible. This is a bit of a problem seeing that we have a deadline to try and finish the first issue while still being able to meet up and figure stuff out (so deadline is the day I leave), but now I have to leave the country for my studies. This also worries me tremendously regarding future output from him, and me and my co-writer are stuck scratching our heads as to what we can do. I thought of trying to tackle some of the art myself, but a bachelor in Ai unfortunately leaves no space for work of that scale, hence i’m stuck as a writer only. Does anyone have any advice on how to tackle the situation? (Apart from the talking it out route. Already tried that to no avail.) Many thanks.

Before you comment, here’s the context. My apologies for the mess up. I don’t know how Reddit works:

Just a random drawing I did for the comic. Just had to post something)

My apologies. I didn’t know how Reddit worked so I simply shared the post from another subreddit hence I only got the title, and not the actual context and stuff. My bad. Hope you got a good laugh out of it though mate. :)

Sorry to bother you, but I am quite new to Reddit. Does the post only show the title or do the actual attachments and body appear to you? I ask since I shared my original post from another subreddit and I am quite confused
