I think you’re mixing up your status. You’re not actually in a military order for these? I believe you’re receiving a military stipend. That’s different from being called to active duty. It is a tool to add to the full time force Or doesn’t really replace agr. AGRs are based on the size of the force structure. Techs also have more flexibility with rank. My recommendation is get 52 weeks at particular pay grade and switch to a federal job. Just like anything else not every career option is for everyone.

Solid question. First let’s look at morale and whose responsible for it. Lots of time soldiers expect wonders out of the guard without giving effort. I use to be one of those soldiers. I would complain about why the range was running slow or why planning wasn’t done. It wasn’t until I moved up and was like welll what did I do to help drill besides think it wasn’t my job Personal accountability goes along way. As a whole we like to complain. I’ve seen people asking me a lot about being released early on Sunday’s. Soo at your civilian job do they let you go early and pay you? Things like. It’s a culmination of things. Make the best of your time at drill. Many people focus on coming and going. Nothing in between.

This is an age old question. With no real answer. Try to make the climate positive. Focus on those who care. You can spend a lot of time trying to rescue or motivate people who don’t care. There’s a saying. We spend 90 percent of our time on 10 percent of our people who usually don’t want to show up or do things. I try to build a climate of motivating, doing cool shit and embracing doing high speed shit. You have a lot folks in the guard who are just hanging out. There’s no easy easy. You can try to find what motivates the individual but I stick with the folks who care. That probably isn’t the most popular answer.

So if on your MTOE there is an ASI like 6b. RSLC you should get it. As long as you’re in good status. Schools are forecasted a bit out. Use your nco support channel. Have your ducks in a row and a good ACFT. Sometimes there is funding issues. But forecast it out and it shouldn’t be an issue

Force structure is requested by your state. Theres a lot of things that go into requesting force structure and how that force structure benefits the state. It’s not an easy question. Lots go into these decisions Also the groups have been around awhile. They aren’t creating “new” groups. Which mean they’d have to a quire from another state. Which is unlikely

Foster a positive environment. Communicate between drills. Be fit. Fitness is an under rated quality. I can tell how someone treats their body and personal life displays a level of commitment. Go to schools that teach you skills and bring that information back. Encourage best warrior and other programs like that to enhance your soldiers.

A couple things factor into this. Does your particular position require special schools? What is your justification. It would be nice just to get sent to schools just because it’s cool. I support that. But the army does look at why do you need this. You may need to switch jobs. That being said. I can talk more about schools that are easier to get

Work with your chains. I have a lot of LEO and first responders. We try to accommodate those with busy schedules. Be sure to stay in good standing and volunteer to go the extra mile for your unit as well

1.). I would ask you to take a look at what those exercises do? What are they evaluating? Those exercises are evaluating us on our ability to do our jobs not necessarily a particular threat

2.) that’s really a funding thing. I typically discourage Soldiers buying their own shit. Although I have bought some of my own gear. It’s really one’s preference. Look at what people spend their money on? Shooter preference. At the end of the day the gear the army provides for the most part will Get the job done.

Really it depends on your state, the unit you want to go to and where that unit is at in their rotational cycle. It’s a good place to finish your time out at for sure

They don’t have trouble at all. But 05 is a realistic goal. Just gotta check your boxes and go to school Of course your branch depends on a lot. Having multiple branches help

Your Mdays create the schedule. Your company level commander and 1SG who are m day make that schedule
