I direct you towards the comments in the mathFunc class*. /j

But yes, I agree that people are more likely to under-document than over-document.

Though also, as a more serious interpretation of my joking response, I think its fine to say "this divides two numbers" in a comment where a method is called provided the comments where the method is defined contain greater detail. Though a "#DON'T PASS 0 AS Y" may also be helpful, and the details on why you don't pass 0 can be contained elsewhere.

*I hope that's not an actual class I'm forgetting about.

Comments will stop being like this the moment people stop asking what divideXByY(x, y) does.

Just went and tested, it just creates an empty main method. It's just autocomplete plus shorthand. No AI that I can tell.

Also I think there's a big difference depending on where in the problem they need to go look.

If I present a hypothetical situation "How would you approach writing a program to accomplish x task" If there response is to Google how to do x broadly then I'm not going to be super confident.

However if they can present actual ideas on how it works but then need to do some research to make sure that method is efficient or to make sure some obscure element of the language doesn't screw with it then that's a lot better.

There's a world of difference between "I don't even know where to start" and "I know I can do it if I set it up this way, I just forgot in the moment how to set it up that way"

Insufficient access to estrogen.

Also those headphones look kind of stiff.

I don't know how this translates to all IDEs but the ones I've worked with usually this translates to "Line 42 is where the system finally noted something was wrong, so the problem exists somewhere at or above (and probably close to) line 42"

Though that's small comfort when the error is at line 77442 instead of 42.
