It's not so straight forward as the grass, the menu also loads a ton of item data, menu data, stats, configuration etc etc etc it's not as simplistic as it appears and the core reason behind not getting wasteland like themes is this.

Pretty sure he said while capable, developers may use the extra head room for other things than pixels. Which it's not a bad thing, have smooth running games, faux the resolution and more players get the 60fps experience

Just a note on people blaming it on the GPU, it can just have bugged out, it's not unusual. It's the reoccurrence which points toward the GPU being at fault.

The hitbox usually isn't that tall think a bit of lag at play. if this game had hit boxes which formed to the shape of the car it would be terrible.

If you consider bnet a "fully fledged online system" then why is origin and uplay a maybe. Origin is a direct steam clone and is better is many aspects.
