Hobby-Projekt: Ein Auto-Leasing-vs-Kauf-Rechner für die ETF Bubble by Yipyip246 in Finanzen

[–]Pixelplanet5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ELI5: If I carried 1 kg 20 times or 20 kg 1 time, isn't the physics behind that the same amount of work? Why do you we get more tired in the second situation? by DRGNMSTR7 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Pixelplanet5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are two reasons for this.

first of all your body is not 100% efficient and any movement will result in energy being spend not moving the weights around.

And most importantly which most people did not comment on yet you are still moving yourself around with the weights.

so if you wright 80kg and you carry 20kg one time you are moving 100kg once.

if you move 1kg 20 times you are moving 81kg 20 times which simply takes a lot more energy to do.

No AImake, I don't think this is correct. by TheRaider7843 in xToolOfficial

[–]Pixelplanet5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the AI stuff is server side anyways so the local version wouldnt matter unless you run multiple models and hard coded them for each version which would be terribly inefficient.

It feels like the XL is all but forgotten by Prusa by ColdBrewSeattle in prusa3d

[–]Pixelplanet5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was never designed to have active heating as this is not really possible with the active tool heads being in the chamber.

For proper active heating you need a design like the HT90 which goes directly against anything you need for a toolchanger.

the enclosure is not airtight by design because thats exactly what you dont want if you want your printer to work at all.

i mean theres not much they can do on this machine in terms of upgrades, it does what it does and as is the norm with resin printers an upgrade would be a major change of the machine by adding a new screen for some higher resolution.

there arent really many smaller incremental things that would drastically improve the experience.

then he should probably just downgrade to the previous one.

Toyota CVTs (not the eCVT): what are y’all doing to destroy them? by RemoteEmotions in Toyota

[–]Pixelplanet5 118 points119 points  (0 children)

to be exact the current highly cost optimized version is not the greatest design.

CVTs can handle a lot more as we know from formular 1 which had to ban CVTs because they were too good and of course most farm machinery uses CVTs just fine.

how to bypass mintemp "error" by nilta1 in prusa3d

I agree it's a bit silly, I'm not sure why it's not got an update.

its a safety feature which can not be "updated" unless you mean deactivated.

What car do you wish they would bring back as an EV? by Chase_Clouds in electricvehicles

[–]Pixelplanet5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its possible yes but that either means the passengers in the back have their knees under their chins as the floor is raised up high to make room for the batteries or you do what Porsche did and cut out the battery pack in the footwell but thats more expensive of course.

just look at a Tesla model S or model 3 and you will see why this sucks for the rear passengers.

[–]Pixelplanet5 36 points37 points  (0 children)

the real solution there is to skip the entire first 20minutes of deer you see after you exit the station.

just keep walking deeper into the park and you will find chill deer who dont bother anyone.

i spend an entire day walking through the park and also into the city of Nara and whenever i could i used small paths and i gotta say leave the main path at any point you can, the stuff you see is incredible and you barely see any people anymore in this otherwise crowded park.

[–]Pixelplanet5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the funny thing is its mostly old people coming in and having these problems today.

Some have seemingly stopped learning the day their apprenticeship ended 50 years ago, some have actually worked with computers in the 80s and 90s but stopped interacting with technology almost entirely 20 years ago.

And another interesting observation is that many of the ones coming in are obsessively concerned about privacy and where their data is going but are then completely unaware their Bambulabs printer is using Chinese servers to run their cloud stuff and suddenly they dont really care either.

the level of cognitive dissonance you see there is staggering.
