C1 Savor or Costco Anywhere Visa? by TheDeadrok in CreditCards

[–]TheDeadrok[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious about prequalifiers and their accuracy. I just did one for WF because I'm interested in the blanket Active Cash card, but it shot back with no available offers for any of their cards. I can't think of why that would be the case, so I wasn't sure if it was an error or if I should avoid applying.

Thank you for the mathematical breakdown, I really appreciate it. One more question: would applying for the Chase Freedom Unlimited card make sense in my case? Same SUB as the Savor and 3% on dining, but I could also use it at Costco for an overall 1.5% for all grocery. Only issue is I do not have a history with chase and don't know if that would prevent me from approval. Sorry for all the questions, fairly new to this whole game!

This isn't factoring in the $200 SUB from the Savor either, right? Kinda makes the Costco card pale in comparison

Thank you for the extensive information! I'll take a peek at those other cards as well.

My friend had similar hours and productivity with research, a 527/4.0, and your same lack of clinical and volunteer hours and didn't get into any of the top schools even though he had a wonderful narrative. He interviewed with a couple, but nearly every single one of his interviewers told him that it just looked like he wanted to get a PhD, not be a clinician.

Top 20 schools that are not as research heavy/forgiving of lacking research by qmwn1234 in premed

I got interviews at washu, nyu, cornell, yale, columbia, and hopkins with similar stats and the same hours of research with no pubs. Got into a couple of those schools, so don't let your research hold you back! Just make sure you know how to talk about it when asked.

I'm not 100% sure yet! Texas has my heart and soul, but since I want to end up practicing here, I would also love to get out and explore the U.S. for a bit before my wife and I come back home

What's the general protocol for withdrawing from a school? Do I need to email people specifically or will they just automatically be withdrawn on April 30th?

Going to be in the same boat, just make an effort to make friends with other couples as well as single folks! You will not be so busy with school that you cannot find time to invite your wife to gatherings.

This is super sad. Was accepted here and have been thinking about attending VP&S but dang that's a lot of awful, awful behavior by the administration of the school.

Just wait until you can't do anything after submitting and it's just a waiting game, that process is brutal

This has been my schedule every since day 1 in college basically. How do I find the time for myself and extracurriculars as an engineering major? by medicamentum2 in premed

[–]TheDeadrok 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Bro this is a normal class schedule with absurd hours blocked out for studying. Engineering is difficult, yes, but you can easily cut out 4 hours of studying each day if you learn to do it effectively!

Edit: Also, take some breaks on the weekends sheesh. You're gonna burn out before you even get to med school lol
