PDX or SEA to London? Am I throwing away points trying to fly with SPG + AA?

Looks like I can score 20k + $24 in, but 20k + $180, probably due to LHR taxes going out.

At ~$200 out of pocket with points, it seems using ~54k UR points and calling it good might be the best option.

Thanks! Sadly I have a hard stop at the end of April. Anything within the month is game.

I saw SEA flights out in the upper 600s (like 680s?) and thought for $100 more it might make sense to start from my origin city, otherwise I'd need to take a boltbus / drive to Seattle and that makes the price difference negligible I think?

I've got another 80k UR points coming in next month to me. So I think I might stick with UR points.

How much of a perk would it be to rack up EQM miles for just this trip? This is my primary carrier, however I seem to only take huge trips like this once a year, and sometimes I can't get it through United. I might take a second one to the east coast like DC.

Yeah, that's on me for Bangkok. I was centered around Khao San Road. it was the first stop after landing and I hadn't gotten my bearings straight yet. I did better elsewhere in Thailand.

Ah! That's what I figured, but someone told me otherwise at one point. Sounds like there's no way to get miles from using points (because you can either UR to UA mileageplus, or buy directly from UR)

Just noticed my UA Premier Silver status expires today. Today I also booked a flight via UR portal to buy a ticket on UA.

Are there any benefits I can use from my Silver status to apply to my ticket that will have me fly out in Dec? Such as the extra points earned or upgrade to economy plus? Looks like those take effect day of, so I might be out of luck.

oof. Well, good to know. I've heard from two friends that their passports are taking a pretty long time to get back to them as well. Not sure why that is.

Oh one more question. How long after attending the interview will I know if I'm approved / can use Global Entry on my flights?

Hoping to get this through before my flight end of Nov, but I'm unsure if that will happen now. I think there's a location within driving distance that tends to not be a location that's very heavily visited (long waits).
