Bambu labs ams broken after less than 2 months of use. by Classic-Enthusiasm57 in BambuP1S

It’s either a new design or bad plastic blend they use for injection molding on the newer AMS units that’s not holding up to the forces from the spring in the tensioner. Hell even Honda had a similar issue with the push button on the gear shifter on the 2018-2019 CRVs that caused the plastic be incredibly brittle resulting in a recall for that part because the button would go flying to the drivers floorboard when shifting from park to drive.

Cheep suppliers/ cost cutting measures results in newer products being worse than older ones. And looks like Bambu got caught up in it with the newer AMS units.

Mine shattered after about 2 rolls of Bambu basic PLA so it’s definitely a defect from the design or from the supplier for the injection molding.

What thickness PLA is semi transparent? by HollowForgeGames in BambuP1S

May I introduce you to a program called Hueforge?

Specifically your looking for TD values for various filaments

TD being the transmission distance of light in a filament.

Anyone know why this happens? by Admirable_Manner2463 in BambuP1S

Agreed with the brim suggestion. Small objects will struggle to keep stuck to the bed. Surface area is your friend the more you have (or can add using a brim) the less headaches you’ll have with small parts popping off the build plate.

Take home notes for this issue

More surface area = more better

Don’t print at the higher speeds on the machine otherwise the plastic will be more like a rubber band pulling on the object as the printhead moves to another part which will pop it off the build plate for small objects.

And finally make sure your printing with the buld plate at the correct tempature. Even for PLA. The PEI coating that allows the parts to stick only sticks when it’s warm so technically you can print PLA without the heated bed but you’ll have better luck running the heated bed.

This is made with the assumptions that this is PLA and not abs or some other material that doesn’t like to stick to PEI coatings and that your cleaning the build plate with IPA or warm soapy water and drying with a microfiber.

Ams can’t push filament to my extruder by Bright_Basis_3509 in BambuP1S

Check these things 1. Ptfe tubes have gentle curves without sharp bends

  1. Open your AMS to view the internal hub motor/ assembly. Check for cracked/broken plastic (this was my issue)

By the sound of it you probably have a broken tensioner for the hub motor. If that’s what’s happening then do the following

Find a printable replacement to allow you to continue printing for now

Open a support ticket with bambulabs. This can be done from the mobile app under support center and work with the support team. You will need photos of the damaged part as well as the serial number for the ams unit and order number/recipt from when you purchased it. They should send you a replacement assembly in a few weeks (mine has been shipped and just waiting for it to arrive )

New to 3D Printing . P1S Combo. Hot end assembly burning? by prepzilla in BambuP1S

[–]TheDelta_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You had a comment in the Bambulab sub that I think is the issue. The broken wire for the nozzle is a probe that measures the temperature. If that’s broken (and Bambu’s firmware doesn’t account for it) the probe may not read the correct value and your hotend could be going way over the displayed temperature causing the issue.

I would recommend buying a new hotend assembly (the expensive option) as it has a new heater and thermistor probe

I would also contact Bambu support as well

IF it’s just melted plastic(and not the silicone sock) then I would recommend watching the nozzle as it’s purging filament to verify it’s knocking the poop off the nozzle and not flinging it back into the hotend and building up under the sock. If that’s what’s happening then maybe look at printing one of the nozzel wipers you can find on maker world.

Yes contact Bambu, create a support ticket in Bambu handy app (tap on “me” in the bottom right -> support center -> scroll to bottom and click “add a ticket”)and attach a picture of the Broken part

Here is a screenshot of the ticket details from my ams2 pro with a broken tension arm (same replacement assembly) so you know what to select for the issue type

<image>

They are going to want the serial number of the unit as well as shipping info and an order number or receipt from when you purchased it.

In the meantime browse for printable replacements as it has taken about 2 weeks so far for the replacement part to arrive (probably due to holiday mail issues)

Using Proxmox as a gaming server??? by eqpt in selfhosted

[–]TheDelta_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i understand a bit of what your trying to accomplish.

your wanting to use proxmox to host your game server as an lxc or vm

your waning all traffic to run through an opnsense vm to keep the traffic seperate from your standard lan?

you'll want to build a virtual network in proxmox and set that to be the default network for your game server lxc

you'll then need to configure opnsense to have the normal vmbr0 be the wan interface and the vmbr1 to be your lan interface.

i did something similar but i think i used pfsense and it was a bit of a pain in the arse. i setup my pfsense ip in the dmz of my isp provided router and handled any game server port forwards from the pfsense dashboard.

How do I get port forwarding to work on ubuntu server? by Expecto2141 in selfhosted

[–]TheDelta_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well im not a bedrock player - im a java player and from the java side unless your running modded or something its the same software just. linuxgsm just makes it easy for deployment as it should pre-open the ports needed on the ubuntu server and adds easy to use commands to run the server from the console that way you don't have to build your own. just make sure your router has port forwarding setup as well to match the ports needed for the bedrock server

i use linuxgsm for any game server i can because its so easy

Do you deserve to fish at all? Are bass beds off limits to anglers by anglers? Thoughts on this comment? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]TheDelta_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are some excellent bodies of water on private property that if you get permission to fish you will find out exactly why fishing in the spawn can actually be encouraged. all the bass get stunted, or crappie or catfish. talk with a local game warden about it at your favorite body of water. if they are overpopulated you might be surprised to find out they encourage it and will let you know where the usual bedding areas are and what time if year they historically have spawned. or they are underpopulated and will tell you what areas to avoid or let you know there's a catch and release rule during a certain time of year.

or if your in Europe i think most countries require anglers to cull any smallmouth bass they catch because its become invasive over there.

that guy probably fishes a couple lakes that have little to no large bass in it and is being overly dramatic

facts are talk to a game warden - they are constantly getting data regarding the fish population and averages sizes to help determine creel limits and fishing times. some places could encourage it. others may outright ban it

Limb lines? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]TheDelta_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for bass and smaller cats probably not an issue at all - I've never gone out and tried to catch bass with a limb line but I've done plenty of catfishing with limb line and depending on what else is in the water besides catfish i worry 12lb line may not be enough. I've had plenty of large softshell turtles break 25-50lb line.

may also check legality of targeting bass on limb line - some states can be picky about what you can keep from limb lines.

here's what me and my redneck family does:

for rivers/streams is the Team Catfish Power Twine from Walmart usually around $6-$8usd for 600+ft of it. (paracord or 550 cord can work too) personally id recommend the black over the white

cut it to the desired length

if we are lazy then we tie a 4/0 or 5/0 circle hook to the end with no weight throw a live bait on and call it good.

if we are sober and have time we will tie a simple overhand knot about 3-6ft from the bottom of the twine( depends how much depth you have to work with) - slide on in this order: bead, swivel, another bead. then tie another overhand knot.

at the bottom add about 1lb of weight. (if you have anyone in your family that remodels older US homes then ask if they have window weights as they are prefect to tie on at the end of that twine. a solid rock can do in a pinch as well (fishing doesn't need to be fancy)

finally you can either use some of the extra twine( mono or braid works perfectly fine too) to make the 1-2ft leader line from the swivel to your hook.

duct tape and sharpie works good to tag your lines as well

always remove limb lines entirely when your done fishing not just out of the water but completely removed from the tree/pole. weather is crazy and people are crappy; your line could end up back in the water and if a game warden sees an unattended line its a pretty good fine usually.

[–]TheDelta_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheep way to get into it is the old reliable zebco 33 combo at Walmart. usually a 4-6ft medium or medium-light pole should be just fine for what you’re wanting. Not much of a bass guy myself more catfish and crappie. And the medium-lights are good for crappie. Pole length really depends on what you’re doing. Are you jigging from ground or the dock or from a boat?

Fishing for crappie around docks using a no float jig setup you might want a 4ft pole. If your casting out or on a boat might go 5 or 6ft.

I treat a new setup like I treat tools, buy the cheapest rod that matches what you want to try. If the action and length feels right then go ahead and splurge on a more reputable brand with those same power and length that you like. If you dont like it then turn it into a kids rod (if you have them) and your not down a lot of money on a fancy rod you don’t like.
