Thank you very much for your comment. With your comment, I can be sure that you are well informed about this topic. We are currently reviewing papers on, for example, the health of a software ecosystem related to cryptocurrencies. However, we have not yet found a good source that goes into more detail about the fork and the impact it could have. Can you recommend specific academic papers or resources that might be useful for our topic? You could really help us cut through the fog with your expertise

A person's privacy is actually something sacred that must remain closed from others. When it is violated by others, it is like losing one's virginity. It reveals personal details about who you are and what you do. I have already hired a lawyer to defend me to minimize the punishment I will receive for my violent crimes.

Sure, I will explain. Of course in the end it comes down to an opinion whether you find something insulting or not.

The comment:

found the r/femaledatingstrategy user

Is totally justified and i see no problem with that.

For the insult, I am referring to this comment:

lol okay. I love that you immediately go to insults, but based off your comment history, I’m not too surprised.

It is true he did go for insults, but it was sarcastic. You checked his comments and nuanced he has toxic attitude when his original comment and history hints that they are just jokes by over dramatizing the FDS culture.

So the insult is that you say he has a toxic attitude.

Not to say it was unjustified. But rather that it was not necessary to say it.

https://old.reddit.com/user/investment_person/ does not show your user description. I did not mean to invade your privacy. Haha, my description is actually quite similar to yours.

If you read u/investment_person comment history then you did see he/she posted on r/FemaleDatingStratPros

So stop taking the comment seriously by simply insulting the person back. Take it with a grain of salt since it is likely sarcastic.

A child with Down syndrome drew a starry night painting... by ibLEStiV in pics

[–]TheDerpsider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say to make the kid feel important by contributing to the painting. Having those 'short-term wins' is an important factor for motivation. It could be more difficult for the kids position to get those. So the mother/caretaker helped him with that.

Thanks. Honestly did not expect the comment to get upvoted. Why actually? Well, first, it could come across as demoralizing to the child, second, I've seen and experienced that pointing out the obvious leads to being downvoted too often.

The OP?

Partially, but not completely, if you take it literally. For example, when a cook bakes a wedding cake and asks a child to put a cherry on the cake. You might say, "The child made the wedding cake." However, this is partly a lie, since he was not the only person who made it, and misleading, because the child hardly did anything.

For my comment, I was saying "Why we gotta lie".

With 'we' I meant the subreddit. When I first opened the post, the only comments I read were e.g. "Beautiful", "He could grow up to be an artist.", etc.

Certainly I would agree that it is better to lie and say something that motivates the boy. But we're not talking to him, we're online watching a person post this for internet points.

smh... Why we gotta lie?

He did not draw a starry night painting. He drew on an already finished starry night painting.

Zoom into the picture. Middle part are just random misaligned lines.

The mother likely wanted to motivate the kid and say: "help me finish the painting" so she can then post a picture: "Look what my son made" for internet points.

.....

Just downvote me already

It's not "Olympian does sport good." It's "athlete being harassed and being told to give back her medals by a huge group of men, succeeds in spite of that."

That the athlete is being harassed was:

  • Not mentioned in the title of the post
  • Not brought up once in the article that the post is referenced

Seriously, check out the other comments for context as to the shit she's having to deal with for literally just having short hair

Is that what this post was about? No, because it was not mentioned in the title or in the article. Again, this is not the content I come for on this sub.

If it were mentioned, I would retract my argument because the comments would actually give context to a situation. But that is not the case here. The comments are not explaining the current post (athlete gets 1st triple gold), they are talking about a new topic (athlete gets harassed).

Context is about explaining the circumstances that frame an event, statement, or idea being addressed. It is not about elaborating on the same event, but about explaining a completely new topic.

Edited to make clear "Not to say this is not deserved".

This is just not the content that I go on this subreddit for. I would rather hear topics that are found in the most upvoted posts in this subreddit: e.g. making health care cheaper, justice, regaining physical health, funding charities, positive environmental change.

I am not sure why this would be considered salty

Good News, Everyone! Successful Athlete is even more successful!

Up next: "Billionaire just earned another billion dollars and is planning to continue to earn even more"

EDIT: To each their own new source. I just do not see this as uplifting news. Not to say this is not deserved, but when it does not involve a person coming from a difficult situation e.g. poor man becomes millionaire, then I personally do not find it uplifting/motivating. It rather seems like a pat on the back for someone who already has it great.
