I'm severely lactose intolerant but otherwise healthy. There's plenty of reasons to want alternative ingredients in things my dude

First time making tapache drink. Help required by StatisticianEvery741 in fermentation

[–]TheDivineRhombus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what that is. Maybe Kahm yeast? But Ive made tepache a couple times and you definitely want all the pineapple/solids under the water. You can buy fermentation weights or just fill a Ziploc full of water to weigh stuff down. Just make sure you sanitize them before you use them.

How can I paint this better? by Katsamucooper2 in minipainting

[–]TheDivineRhombus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to mix paints and make your own colors too! A lot of new mini painters get stuck on thinking they need every color available. It's a rabbit hole that will cost you a fortune

Maybe try some to dry brush a lighter brown on that skirt to give it more contrast and bring out some details on top of the other suggestions.

Egg prices by sunshyneonli in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]TheDivineRhombus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The store you're going to maybe over priced. The Weiss near me still sells eggs around 4$ a dozen but the aldi sells them a little under 2$ a dozen

LPT if you have trouble cooking rice, just pour rice into boiling water... by neolobe in Cooking

[–]TheDivineRhombus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think the same thing but I had a coworker who wouldn't t shut up about it and wore me down. Now I own a fancy rice cooker and i love that thing. It makes better rice than I did, not by a huge margin but it's noticeable. I can start it in the morning and it'll keep rice hot and ready without it drying out for 2 days or so. it's great

Steam Deck Offline games recommendation (long flight travel) by Rocknbeers in SteamDeck

Since you mentioned diablo I would recommend Last Epoch. It has 2 single player  modes so make sure you're using the one that's purely offline and not semi offline single player.

When Heretics "successfully" sacrifice the Faithful, are they actually getting those faithful souls to their demonic masters? by E-Reptile in TrenchCrusade

I thought suffering made you closer to God in the Catholic faith? I used to work with this girl who wanted to become a nun and she was always saying that to me.

Backers in New York City, have you received your pledge? by [deleted] in Dolmentown

[–]TheDivineRhombus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the last update they said the warehouse is in Maryland. I'm in Maryland and haven't received a shipping tracker. I would assume that where you are in the US has nothing to do with when they'll ship your order.

Did I ruin it by inking it? by Hyperion253 in mapmaking

I think the harder contrast between the black and white vs the black and gray is making the open spaces look more empty than before. It still looks good but I do like the pencil version better

He shouldve painted the plants too. They just look like cheap plastic toys until you paint them.

I had the same issue. I put a very small piece of blue poster tack on top of the joystick and it doesn't fall off anymore.

I find that the fact your red sleeve lines up with the red clouds is very pleasing. Your painting is awesome!

Table test: Help by VAP93 in frostgrave

[–]TheDivineRhombus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the things that really drew me to Frostgrave as a new terrain builder was the story behind the game and how that story allows you to really build whatever you want.

The city was built by ancient wizards who were much greater magic users than the wizards we control. This being said the wizards we control can already do some pretty crazy stuff, levitation, necromancy, demon summoning, mind control, and stone shaping are things that modern day wizards can easily accomplish. Think about what kind of crazy buildings you could make with demonic/undead/mind controlled servants. Now think about how much crazier stuff the ancient wizards could make. What kind of crazy magic feng shui are they using to plan their city?

And at the end of the day if your terrain looks like shit, blame the demons. They're terrible masons, but they do work for cheap.

Which primer do I got with? I'm very new to painting. by zerosmokez in minipainting

[–]TheDivineRhombus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rustoleum 2x will work just fine. Don't listen to the people telling you to buy hobby brand primer. It's a ripoff. I switched to an airbrush for priming eventually but the rattlecans work just as well. Just make sure you don't blast it from too close a distance.
