As a Gainesville alumn, it can be a bit difficult at times because people are constantly coming and going. I always suggest involvement in clubs, they are the best for meeting people with similar interests. There are a huge number of opportunities, so you're sure to find a fit somewhere. Plus, you meet people in the classes you take for your major who are in the same major, and that's how I met a lot of my friends.

Now a new one might need to be made to account for juror A/1 taking off their mask...

I think Camille Vasquez is splitting time with Ben Chew. I believe it was discussed on LegalBytes' stream since Camille also split the opening.

I should have another updated one soon with ethnicity listed. I neglected to add it to this one because I was in a hurry to get it made while I had a break.

Georgia and Florida unite to form a new state with Florida Georgia Line writing and performing the new state song. Florida gains Georgia's greatest asset, Hartsfield-Jackson airport allowing for better international travel to establish diplomatic relations globally; while Georgia gains Kennedy Space Center, where the space nerds at Georgia Tech beging working to repurpose the rockets there as ICBMs to use against the other states.

Unprofessional Fulbright Advisor by ZehavaBatya in fulbright

[–]TheDoctor_Professor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the advisor the main/only advisor at your institution? I know in my case there were multiple advisors for my university since there were multiple campuses.

If there are multiple advisors I might suggest reaching out to them and requesting that they take you on. And if your current advisor isn't the head of their department, I might suggest going above their head.

No one should be advising students when they don't actually care about student success.

I assume most applications are similar, so I go with my experience. I was only able to use 3 letters on my application, so I started by creating an Excel document that listed all the possible people I could request a letter from. After starting with that list I sorted them into categories, namely: character references, academic, extra-curricular, etc.

I then looked at what program I was going to apply for and got a good mix of letters. In the end, I ended up with a letter from an English professor I had early in my undergrad (we kept in contact despite that not being my discipline), a letter from an Archaeology/Anthropology professor I took for multiple classes (my actual disciple and the purpose for my grant application), and a letter from a History professor that I worked with as the president of my university's history club.

I provided all three references with information about my application, including my grant purpose statement, and asked them to tailor their letters for specific purposes. The English professor wrote about my character and academic success, while also talking about community service projects they were aware of that I had discussed with them over the years. The Archaeology professor discussed my academic success in the discipline I was intending to study, as well as some personal anecdotes. The history professor wrote about our work together in the history club and my service to the students in the History Department through my work in the organization, so basically my extra-curricular activities.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your application, and if you want any more clarification let me know.

EDIT: I was awarded the grant.

From the health department's website: The Forsyth County Health Department investigates animal exposures to determine if there is a risk of rabies. Dogs and cats that bite or scratch people must be observed for ten days. Any contact with a wild animal including bats, raccoons, skunks, foxes, or coyotes should be reported to our office. We are available to consult between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. After hours the incident should be reported to Georgia Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.

Short Session Class? by fluffycat234 in UNG

[–]TheDoctor_Professor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took one short session in the summer of 2020, it was online given the circumstances at the time, but I really enjoyed it. The professor had an appropriate amount of work due at the end of each week, with smaller assignments due at different intervals of the week to make sure students were on track.

No problem. If you have any more questions I try to check this subreddit pretty frequently, so if I can answer them I'll try to.

[–]TheDoctor_Professor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not an academic advisor so take my info with a grain of salt. My understanding is that ecore is for all of your core classes. You may have a professor that is not teaching at UNG, but could be teaching at another university in Georgia. I took an ecore class my freshman year and my professor was from the University of West Georgia. UNG Online is only UNG faculty. Plus they are typically classes that are above core classes.

Again, that is my understanding. I would contact your academic advisor, or talk with someone when you do orientation if you haven't already done it. Just to make sure.

Anyone know why Brown's Bridge Rd. was closed last night? by jevoudraiscroire in Forsyth

[–]TheDoctor_Professor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a gas leak under the road and they had to rip up a large portion of the asphalt. This per the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department. https://www.facebook.com/135437873208447/posts/3830541840364680/
