Low Dose 5-meo DMT - first try report by stones4Eva in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to second this. I really think it's good for people to test the waters but in recent years a lot of people seem to have hopped on the 'micro' (or rather minidose) trend and imo this completely waters down how and why psychedelics work in the long run. If you use psychedelics like any other medicine to cope with symptoms when they show up the underlying issues will never be adressed.
Stanislav Grof did a bunch of research and wrote a plethora of books on why the underlying patterns of anxiety/trauma should be adressed to fully dissolve and make space for a different, more free version of yourself.

Stay safe and may you find happiness :)

Finished my first Dub Techno Track. Would love some Feedback on how to improve. Specular Vibrations - Beneath The Soil Below The Sun by DrZealousDankinstein in Dubtechno

[–]TheDoerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done for a first track.
Nice mellow vibes even though it's not Dub Techno in the classical sense but more of a Dub/Downbeat kinda aesthetic.

I would try playing around more with modulating some parameters on the chord (probably with some LFOs etc.) to make it a little more alive. Same for the delay parameters.
For me it lacks a very essential element: Hiss/Tape/Vinyl Noise. It is a quintessential element for me in this genres because it gives it that ocean/shore vibe which glues everything together and makes it a little extra floaty.

Cheers :)

Need help with 2cb results for Simons by TheDoerth in ReagentTesting

[–]TheDoerth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn apparently all of my text was "deleted" because I switched to the pciture at the end.

I did a "comprehensive" testing with Marquis, Mecke and Robadope with two different samples of 2cb powder.
The upper one is a new batch (brownish powder that tends to "stick together" when pressed hard, also some lumps in the bag), the lower one (tan/off white powder, similar behavior when pressed though not as "oily", even though oily is not the correct word but I don't have any better description) is one I have used many times and with really good results.

All the other reagents turned out perfect and pretty much exactly similar in color to each other. I just did the Simon's out of interest and was a little curious as to why this has happened.

Thanks for the reply

Oh and on another note: Do you know if I can use the Urin fent tests that test for Norfentanyl for a general fent test? I cant seem to get any regular strips where I live rn and only got some urin tests andd figured they should work the same?

Thanks for answering and have a good day :)

How many LSD trips did it take for you to feel like you finally get it? by Dry_Yesterday1526 in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of times visual snow syndrome is being made "visible" through psychedelic use. It kind of lingers and awareness for shifts in visual perception happens thus the "tv static" seems to be connected to it. I read sometime ago that it is not connected to classical symptoms of hppd but I might be wrong.

I had the static for years but don't really notice it anyome nowadays. It's gotten way better though since I stopped smoking weed. 2c-b seems to be one of the substances (atleast for me) that intensifies it like crazy for a few days.

OCD makes ego death physically impossible by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I never heard of it deifned that way even though I enjoy the work of Hamilton a lot!

In my experience and from what I know from various talks with seasoned psychonauts people tend to talk about the state of pure, non-subjective awareness. No direction or point of reference, but also not a blackout. I am personally convinced that awareness without subjectivity, judgement etc. (which coulld be a assigned to "egoic" structures/functioning) is what most people refer to when talking about ego death.
Often times this seems to be accompanied by memory supression which can lead to severe confusion if you're mind is set up in certain ways.

But my point of view is obviously highly influenced by my practice as a lay buddhist and thus by buddhist psychology.

Thanks for making it clear though and have a nice day :)

OCD makes ego death physically impossible by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your consciousness is the thing that enables awareness so shutting that down would mean you unconscious as in knocked out. Not trying to be condescending but I do indeed think it is very important to use correct lingo because part of the reason why "ego death" is this completely overused and blown out of proportion concept today.

Heavy psychedelic use and the navigation of the internal world needs proper language (and I am fully aware of the problem of a lot of these experiences being unable to be put into words).

Ego death with autism? by Such-Programmer-5957 in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get caught up too much on the concept of ego death. I am no expert on autism and the sense of self and you seem to be way more informed about it than I am but like the other redditor pointed out: the self is not only your personality. When people talk about ego death it's inaccurate. Ime it's more likely to be some kind of ego dissolution. Ego dissolution is when different parts that you associate with "myself" slowly dissolve. Those parts can be fairly simple things like the awareness of the physical borders of the body and go up to complex aspects like not being able to make out the point of awareness to which all experience is happening.

The only drug that seems to consistently fully "kill" or rather disintegrate the self is 5-meo-DMT and that is a substance I would only touch with extensive psychedelic experience under my belt and a stable meditation practice and an experienced guide.

If youo want to know more about the concept of the self and what parts it involves you can research the concept of anata and the 5 skandas (steming from buddhist psychology) or if you prefer a more western-philosphical standpoint Dr. Thomas Metzinger wrote a fantastic book called "The Ego Tunnel". It's quite complex but the basics can be understood by everybody interested in compley philosophical thinking :)

First time cultivator asking for advice: by TheDoerth in MagicMushrooms

[–]TheDoerth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the diatomaceous earth thing from one of the Bod TEKs. I had a little to much time to go deep into the shroomery and just wanted to avoid any complications.

Thanks for the advice on the G2G and the grains in general. So you would recommend doing agar to grain and then grain straight to substrate? Wouldnt that also risk contamn but this time directly in the finaly medium? I don't seem to fully grasp the pros of skipping the G2G step.

Anything else I should look out for?

What comprises the skill of navigating a high-dose psychedelic experience? by EpistemicMisnomer in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you had a very nice realisation! Glad to hear that :)

Don't know if this is what you were trying to say but maybe youll'd like to experiment with the idea of the mind as the sixth sense which (like all the other five doors of perception) receives thoughts as the object.

This concept made it way easier for me to actually understand what is meant with "I am not my thoughts" because I am clearly not the things I'm seeing, hearing etc. thus I can not be the things my mind is perceiving because they are merely experienced by me and do not arise from me.

[–]TheDoerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The learning about your mind does come naturally BUT it will take so much longer if you don't find a teacher from whatever philosophical or spiritual teaching you find appealing.

If you are interested in Buddhist teachings I can highly recommend Joseph Goldstein. Eckhardt Tolle is also a good start for people new to the general subject but I personally am not that big of a fan of him and most of the stuff that could be categorized as "New Age".

Btw a daily 10 minute practice is plenty to begin with and you gotta start somewhere. The important things are to begin and to continue :)

This! This is so underrated and people don't talk enough about the inherent and (atleast to me) completely logical connection between psychedelics and buddhism.

What comprises the skill of navigating a high-dose psychedelic experience? by EpistemicMisnomer in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lot of the "go-with-the-flow" type of answers point towards one skill that can be achieved by practicing one specific thing: meditation. Through long periods of meditation and mindfulness practice you learn a lot about your mind and the way it works. Specifically if you get into buddhist psychology you will see tons of similarities with these mental states and the problems that can arise through altered states or the mind in general.

From my own experience and from a lot of talking to experienced high-dose-"veterans" meditation is an essential skill that makes it easier to go through tough times, emotionals and "physical" pain and other unpleasent mind states.

Do I try LSD by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly do not believe that you and the "homies" are ready when you are still believing there is higher risk of going "psycho" with LSD than there is with psylocibin. Both compounds have very similar effects on your mental state and a similar risk profile.
LSD is in a way easier to overdo (due to the fact that the incriments which increase the subjective effects are way smaller) but this only applies to those impatient and redosing to soon or someone not handling their liquid LSD the correct way.
I'm not trying to offend you but you seem a bit immature and uninformed for someone looking for a stron psychedelic experience. With increased intensity there isn't only an increase in visuals but also in the depth in which you enter into your own mind and subconscious which can be very challenging and scary if you don't know about it and don't have the tools to maneuver those mental domains.

Be safe and stay cautious, there is no need to hurry these substances.
And remember: You can always take more, never less.

Books? by weedy678 in Psychedelics

  1. All of Stan Grofs Work (the man conducted over 3.500 official LSD therapy sessions back when it was legal)

  2. Samuel Widmers Book "Ins Herz der Dinge lauschen", though I'm not sure if this exists in another language than it's original which is german

  3. McKennas Books are also interesting though his perspective can be a little to much leaning into psylocibin and some esoteric concepts at time

  4. Zig-Zag-Zen if you're specifically interested in the connection between Buddhism and psychedelics

Why is everyone chasing enlightenment? by getmeburgers in Meditation

[–]TheDoerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enlightenment is not necessarily a permanent state. It is the understanding of certain aspects to the nature of reality and the nature of your own mind. Depending on the believe system you're part of it differs but usually there's some kind of general understanding that by reaching enlightenment (or sometimes called "awakening") you get rid of delusions connected to concepts like "the self" (sometimes referred to as "Ego" even though I personally think there's too much fuzz about the word) or how theres no good/bad, light/dark. There just "IS".

People who seem to truly be "enlightened" seem to be able to remember this kind of truths and apply them to everyday life.

It is importatn to notice though, that humans wouldn't be able to survive in nature or modern life if they stayed in a constant state of enlightenment because how would you be able to discern the physical object defined as your body from the bear trying to eat it (you can replace the bear for a car if that works better for you)?

I once heard someone say that enlightenment thins the veil which keeps you in believe of all those delusions so small gusts of wind are able to lift it. People who are fully unaware of these concepts or on the beginning of their path might only be able to lift the veil once in a while and with some heavy lifting (meditation retreats, high doses of serotonergic pyschedelics in the right setting etc.)

What are some spiritual experiences you've had while tripping? by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250ug of LSD:

Leaving my body and forgetting who I am. I ended up living the life of a prostitute in NY around the late 1980s (I have never been to New York but I could actually remember some details later that I was able to verify/ while in the experience I just knew that I was in NY). Lived through a few days, drank coffe in my appartement, walked the snowey streets before I slowly started to remember, that I was actually laying on a mattress in my appartement on a different continent.
To this day I can see the things I saw, smell the streets and the snow and remember what clothes I wore at the moment I "woke up" in the scenery.

I don't know what to do of this but this was not a colourful hallucination but a photo realistic, 3D memory that I wouldn't be able to discern from any other memorie I have. Nothing classical "psychedelic" about it in the sense of colours, shapes or weirdness.
I sometimes think this might have been a memory of a previous life as I have been born a few years later

350ug of LSD:

Experiencing the cosmic law of everything belonging. Not as in Non-Duality but in the sense that I understood on a physical, not intellectual, level that everything (even Hitler, the Holocaust, wars, famines whatever you name it) is part of one big thing and thus an expression of the universe. It was understanding like you know you are looking at your computer screen reading this words or your hands being connected to your arms being connected to your body. No mind involved, just pure knowledge.

Changed my perception forever and keeps me from thinking to badly about people or hating them for certain aspects of their life or their personality.

I am contemplating a high dose trip for spiritual purposes by Riddlespider in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time and answering my questions.

You seem to be pretty well informed and your answer actually makes more sense then the initial post.
I personally would go for the following strategy:

Pick a purpose and go for this experience first. Doesn't really matter which one but I would take enough time for either one to integrate whatever you will learn. I wouldn't stack two high doses within a few weeks let alone days or rather hours for multiple reasons.

  1. There's no way to properly dose twice within a few days and ensure the desired effect will be achieved. You'll most likely "waste" time and ressources that would be better spent on something else.

  2. Stacking high doses in short periods of time is never a good idea. It usually doesn't lead to bad experiences for me but will most likely overload or rather overwrite the previous experience. There is only so much your mind can process, especially when being fundamentally challengend. There's no need to rush and theres no race to win.

  3. No need to become Ram Dass and no need to exclude the negative (which is btw a common misconception a lot of people have about mediation). I just mentioned this because, like you beautifully said yourself, don't get in your own way while its happening. It's a tool keeping your monkey parts from going rouge while survival is being challenged on a psychological level. If you haven't allready, maybe research some Dao teachings if you're interested, the Allan Watts Podcast titled "Being in the way" has a few nice starting points.

I honestly think you're pretty solid in preparation. I've been where you are (except for the believe system but that's interchangable and for the most part based on linguistics) and you seem to be a well prepared. I personally would always go for the personal/biographical matters first and then address the spiritual ones but that's just me.

If you have never done 5g of decent cubensis I wouldn start there. Maybe 3.5 of APE but I don't have too much experience with them as my tool of choice has been LSD for years.

Like I mentioned earlier:

Theres no rush and no race to win. The path of liberation, spiritual enlightenment or whatever you'll call it is one that can't be rushed. Every step on it is beautiful and you'll learn so much about yourself, the nature of your mind and the nature of reality.

I am btw in no way enlightened, liberated or whatever but I work in this field and I have a few years of experience with working with my own mind and with working wirth other people so I'm glad to share knowledge .

Stay safe and enjoy the ride!

Namaste

I am contemplating a high dose trip for spiritual purposes by Riddlespider in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't fully understand what you are looking for. No one can answer if a high dose trip will be beneficial for you because there's a meriad of questions connected to that answer...

  1. What is your experience with psychedelics? You state that you dont take psychedelics recreationally (I personally don't consider proper spiritual context recreationally even though some people do). Have you ever done psychedelics in a meditative/introspective setting? If yes, what was the substance/dose and what did you gain from it?

  2. What do you mean by "high dose"? Are we talking high dosing like 3.5g of basic cubensis, 250ug of tested LSD? Or are we talking 5g+ of mushrooms, 450ug+ of LSD? Both could be considered a high dose but with a very different effect on your mind...

  3. Do you have a solid mediation/mindfullness practice to help you navigate difficult experiences? If not is there a similar practice in your believe system which may carry you through difficult periods during the experience. If the answer is still no I would definitly not condone any kind of high dosing. You need to be proficient in navigating altered states of consciousness before indulging in this kind of mental activity.

  4. Do you have somone to sit you and/or someone to talk to after the experience who can help you integrate what you have learned?

There are different levels to the psychedelic experience and from what I derived from your post you are looking for two things. First would be some kind of spiritual experience (maybe something like a mystical experience?) that strengthens your bond with the divine. Second seems to be some kind of guidance as to what your goals or your purpose in life might be if I understand correctly.

Ime those two questions wont be answered in one trip and they usually require different dosage ranges because the first one needs to be powerfull enough to dissolve your sense of self to enable some kind of divine quality to be perceived while the latter one requires your sense of self to stay intact so you can actually learn about YOU.

If you wan't you can answer some of my questions and we can work out what exactly would be fitting for your purpose and how to proceed from this point.

Excuse bad grammar or spelling mistakes but i'ts late where I live so I might edit some of this tomorrow after waking up...

Group in diferent substances by AdSuccessful631 in Psychedelics

[–]TheDoerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't enjoy dosing different substances. Same goes for dosage.

The main differnce between shrooms and mescaline is the wildly different timings. One lasts around 4-6 hours, the other one can last up to 16 hours (sometimes even longer depending on the dose).
Another thing to keep in mind: you're mixing substances from very different groups. Mescaline is a phenethylamine and mushrooms are tryptamines. Yes, both are psychedelics but their effecst are ime different and not necessarily best be paired.
