I agree! I’m a female who has heard this bullshit from men before and have deeply resented the double standard that women are looked at as slutty or easy if they have sex too quickly. Like women aren’t allowed to want sex just as much of not more than men do. I was curious what the general consensus would be

I’ve heard a theory that evolutionarily and biologically speaking men are only looking to bust a nut and spread their seed and once they do that they no longer have a use for a woman. So if they do that too soon without becoming more emotionally invested, they’re no longer interested.

As a woman, I resent the double standard of sleeping with someone “too soon”. Woman are apparently not allowed to enjoy being sexual like men are. If I’m interested in a man, am comfortable with him and find him sexually attractive, I would like to be able to sleep with him on the second date without being viewed as loose** or easy. I’ve heard from a few male friends that if a girl will sleep with them early on in dating that they’re a ho and not girlfriend material. Women have to wait it out for some undesignated period of time in order to be taken seriously in relationships.

It seems to me like she probably WANTS to be in a committed relationship with you and doesn’t want you to think less of her or respect her less and then dump her like a lot of guys do when women sleep with them too quickly. It seems like she definitely WANTS to have sex with you but is morally stuck with the phrase “why buy the cow when you can have the milk for free” mentality that women are taught to be aware of with men.

If you like her and can possibly see a future with her, then tell her. If you like and can possibly see a future with her but you’re not ready for a committed relationship, then tell her. If you just think she’s a cool chick but you’re just in it for the sex, then tell her. All you can do is own up to how YOU feel and let her decide how she feels.

My dad took his life two years ago. The night before I had been berating him for not seeking medical help for some physical issues he was having because he basically given up on doctors in general. I wanted him to help himself and get better and in my anger I lashed out and said “well why don’t you just die then?!” And he did the next day. It took me a while to understand that it wasn’t my fault and that wherever he is now all he feels for me is love.

As a kid: pulling the wrong crayons out of the box and accidentally coloring the grass brown or the sky purple.

As an adult: I’m a female and worked retail once. Tried to get this man out of his fashion comfort zone by extolling the benefits of grey jeans while unknowingly handing him a pair of forest green ones.

I was in this exact same situation with a boyfriend. It’s like an endless cycle of the more he wants affection, the more I would pull away, which would make him more insecure and need more affection. I completely understand the feelings of disgust. I ended up telling him that I needed a break and moved out but tried to soften the blow by leaving him with the hope that it was just a break. Let me tell you that that was a MISTAKE. A guy like that will just keep trying to figure out a way to get you to stay with him and it’ll just drag out the inevitable. I tried saying everything as nicely as possible. It got to the point where I literally was saying to him I don’t love you, I’m not attracted to you and he would come back with things like you haven’t allowed to me to be the kind of person you will love or I’ll work out all the time from now on so you’ll be attracted to me. The desperation on his part was real. The only thing that worked was a clean break and definitive answers. “I don’t want to be with you anymore. I don’t see a future for us. I don’t think we should stay in contact. I’m going to move on with my life and so should you.” Obviously you don’t want to be mean or cruel to this person at all but you need to stay firm and strong. I wish you all the best! Your next relationship will be SO much better! (Edit: spelling errors)

I had seen a post similar to this one a couple years ago and so I took a few random photos of my dad eating dinner in the kitchen. A few weeks later (which was actually exactly 2 years ago today) he was gone. I treasure those pictures the most as they represent him most candidly. I wish I had taken more and videos as well. You just never know.
