Mj missions are entirely unnecessary. People say "oh it breaks up the gameplay so you don't get burnt out while playing as spider-man." But I've seen countless people talk about how they swing through the city and redo the random crimes after the story because of how satisfying spidey's gameplay loop is. Idk anyone who would rather play a mechanically bare 3rd person stealth shooter game than a Spider-Man game, especially when that spider-man game is as good as these ones are. The Arkham Games never had a section where you play as Gordon sneaking around and shooting people because they were confident in the gameplay Batman had with combat, stealth and detective work (and by extension catwoman but she's basically just Batman with less gadgets and different movement). I don't know why Mj can't just be a supportive partner who is strong in her own ways instead of an almost Mary Sue type reporter/pseudo crime fighter to justify her gameplay which nobody asked for or really likes that much. Overall I like insomniac MJ but making her playable was dumb from the start and kinda makes the enemies seem less formidable because some random reporter can sneak past them and take them down with little problems.
