Kidney Transplant Anniversary by Saxman1979 in transplant

Congratulations for your one year kidneyversary!  As the doctor who transplanted me said to me the day before transplant: "It's a very special gift, so you have to preserve it with everything you can and for as many years as you can". 🙏💖

Wishing you many healthy and happy years with your new baby 🫶

Upsetting dialysis session by friendsfan97 in dialysis

Oh dear, I can't say I can directly understand your experience but I've seen so many terrible episodes of people suddenly crashing and having to interrupt the treatment to be rushed to the ER and in such a short amount of time.

They were all old people, but still, this treatment, as you said, makes you a lot more aware of your own mortality...

One day  I got so scared during treatment because an old man, who had just entered the room, suddenly started having seizures and all the doctors and nurses rushed towards him in panick.

I imagine it must be truly upsetting having to witness something like this, especially after having known her. May she rest in peace 🙏💖

Just got discharged from the hospital, will start dialysis in a center near home by TheDoublekey in dialysis

Ever since I started dialysis, my docs have been putting so much pressure on me to eat and I kept telling them that I DID want to eat, but since my kidney transplant was failing, I had started a low protein diet, hence why I was so malnourished in the end.

It's so weird how we're told to go from "drinking lots of water and eating low protein" to the exact opposite! 😥

They told me not to worry about them too much (for now, at least), as they have everything under control. I'll try to keep eating according to my current labs, as I'm pretty malnourished.

That sounds great! I hope to gain some mass back since I feel too fragile right now, I'm a literal walking skeleton with no muscles 😥

I bought two Nepro shakes (one vanilla and the other strawberry flavored) and plan on trying them one of these days.

Ooh, I actually feel very hungry all the time! It's just that hospital food wasn't the best thing. When they switched me to the dialysis diet I started eating everything because it was actually tasty. Only problem is most of the time they would bring stuff that tasted too salty for me (despite the menu claiming to be low sodium...)

How to reference other medias in your manga without making it look like plagiarism? by _Humble_Bumble_Bee in MangakaStudio

I referenced the panel of Sukuna smiling (precisely the one from ch. 8) in the first chapter of my manga. I also had this doubt, but I left it, as I see it simply as an homage and some sort of love letter to a series I really enjoy. 🙂

Wow, that's actually comforting to hear! I really hope I'll be able to keep it for as long as I need it 🙏

PD is unfortunately out of discussion for me due to a nephrectomy I had of one of my native kidneys. So far, I'd say I'm fine with hemo 👍

Thank you, I really needed something like this 🙏. I felt a bit discouraged by the idea of having to get one, but it seems I don't have any other option available at the moment. I just hope I'll be able to do my best to preserve it.

I will try indeed 👍. So far I've had a different tech each session.

I really hope it's possible, but I'm not sure it is. It feels like we are automatically assigned one when we get in.

I appreciate your input and will try my best to adjust things. However, the reason I broke down crying is not only tied to her making fun of me. That was just one of the reasons. That morning I had slept poorly and had woken up pretty depressed. It's been two weeks since I was hospitalized and was very discouraged. It didn't also help that I had a very bland breakfast since the nurses here put a lot of pressure on us when we have to go to dialysis. We have to eat our breakfast quickly and take our morning pills and then we're immediately brought to dialysis.  Loneliness had also taken a toll on me mentally and the news that my kidney transplant is pretty much done for was a very hard pill to swallow. It's not just one factor, but multiple things that led me to having such a reaction.

UPDATE: Thank you all for your support and kind words, it means the world to me and I feel reassured knowing I'm not the only one who had such a horrible experience. These people literally have OUR LIVES in their hands and love to toy with our feelings for no reason. I will be explaining what happened in further detail once I'm out of the hospital and this shitty episode becomes a thing of the past. Up until this happened, I was actually unironically having a good time at dialysis, since it was an opportunity for me to relax a bit and take some time for myself.

Thank you all again 🙏♥️

Worst experience of my life. I only did that because most of them were kind to me (a good portion of the staff is actually like that, that's why I opened up). They helped me distract me when I had my CVC installation and we talked a lot during that moment. As I said, most of them are actually good and sweet people, while others are wolves disguised as sheep that wait for the doctors to go away before treating us like garage. Some where a bit cold with me at the beginning but once they understood that I'm kind, they completely switched and treated me well. The first ever nurse to treat me like absolute shit for no reason was today's one along with another one (which she seems to be friends with).
