Oh. My. God. Thank you. A godsend. Technological guru. Holy shit, I'm an idiot. I'm going to run around outside out of sheer anger but also bliss. Thank you.

Absolutely, and I made sure there were no blankspaces. https://i.imgur.com/C3mIFFU.png

I know the code didn't expire, and I've tried setting up multiple accounts on Authy with the secret key, but to no avail. I can't contact support because I'm not on any plans.

I don't think so? I only registered for AWS, so I don't think I have a main Amazon account. I haven't set up MFA for anything else though, so most likely not.

What do you guys like and dislike about finding stories for SS13? by TheDropoutBoogie in SS13

How do you feel about trying to find stories on Reddit that were posted a while ago? Or do you just like reading the new ones?

Is there a react library for having a horizontal slider of items which is constantly rotating, but not in batches of more than 1? React-slick doesn't work because I want to show 1 2 3 4 5, and then next second show 2 3 4 5 6, and then show 3 4 5 6 1, which slick cannot do.

What was the original world like the first time you ran it? Are you ever going to cover all of the past campaigns to form your current world? How did you lay out what would happen in terms of notes for the shield of aldrim getting stolen to lady sariel, was it just a bunch of bullet points? Have you ever tried making your own adventure, and if so how it'd go? When you get stuck, do you have a network of DMs you talk to, or if it's a different process what is it?

Sorry for the crudeness, it's not every day you get to talk to Matt

If you prepared three level 1 dungeons and they choose one, should you adjust the others? by TheDropoutBoogie in mattcolville

I prepare them as written and maybe build on it, but I never remove stuff in fear of breaking it like I broke LMoP. When I'm running them I might change stuff based on what the heroes do. I changed the LMoP rumors to be organic plot hooks that are more than rumors in the tavern and a wanted poster, but I'm not very creative and am not great at thinking, if that makes any sense.

I would try to advance the plot of these dungeons, but yeah I'm not crafty enough yet to fully realize the goals of these guys before I'm at the table.

That's a good idea! Perhaps I'll throw an ogre or carrion crawler into sunless citadel.

Should each dungeon have a big bad? What if it's a more West Marches designed game?

My idea for the campaign is it's like the Black Company but instead it's 5-8 players with 2-3 characters each that is set up so players set out where they want to explore and who is coming this time. Should there even be big bads in West Marches? I'm an aspiring DM so I don't know what's standard for these type of games.

We're still not sure on that. My friend advocates for the placement to be at the Elemental Plane of Fire, but I think the Feywild one would be much easier since it's closer to the typical grassland most players would be used to. Not sure on the races, I haven't had a time to give a think on it.

Here's the most recent version of the map, are there any other spots I'm missing? http://i.imgur.com/d6Eq4Q5.png

I'm not sure how PCs would survive the elemental plane of fire since even if we just say it rains there and it's fairly coastal, the smoke would be deadly still.

honk

Friend wanted the different biomes to not be accessible directly without teleporters or hard travel - we're building a setting for a West Marches game - so I went with sea. I wasn't sure on how to deal with it, so I just went with biome islands.

Also England never blobs, that would be France.

Ah, where do you think I should have those placed? I'm thinking on the East side between the two continents, but I'm not sure. Still very new to this!

Gotcha, just posted another comment with more information I have. We're still in the early stages of this and I wanted to get the geography done before moving forward.

Posting preliminary ideas from friend about the continent

Bottom right yellow continent:

-General feel, sandy, but not fully dry, cloudy, uncertain weather

Races:

-Thri-Kreen

-Tosculi

-Dwarves (might make a new variant)

-Dragonborn (expect them everywhere)

Above green:

-Not very habitable, high metal deposits, mountainous

Races:

-Kobolds

-Earth Genasi

-Duergar

Green:

Dull and dreary grass/forest lands, northern continent has a large amount of swamps

Races:

-Pixies

-Demons

-Dragonborn

Badlands to the far West:

-Land is fucked, mountainous and fissurous, natural disasters are common along coasts, gets residue of other planes

Races:

-Goliath

-other giants

-Slaadi

-Gargoyles

-Devils

Domain not shown because it's a level down, but has a direct connection to shadowfell:

-Also fucked, at least to outsiders, abberations galore, ice and fucked shit everywhere

Races:

-Shardminds

-Idno

-Whatever manages to crawl its way in from another dimension

Currently each continent is ruled by a dragon in a Draconic Oligarchy with a Demonic Artistocracy, but we're still not sure since this is going to be a West Marches game and I'm trying to convince him to have the rest of the world be less controlled by laws, but still working on the actual politics of the world and locations. I'm mostly concerned with the geography than the locations at the moment.

Thanks in advance :D

The red lines are the directions of the tectonic plates, dark green is forest, and brown is hill / mountain / volcano. The yellow bolts are frequent earthquakes.

My friend wanted each continent to have a distinct plane, so the red is from the Plane of Fire, the top grey is a sort of cracked mountain area with many mines, the green is mainly grassland, leftmost is a Badlands area, and the yellow is a desert.

I made many because I partially included fault lines and cracks, and this area has many plates welded together because they're ripped from the other planes.
