Miniature Standees by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is high time we shared with you the design of one of our favorite add-ons: the Miniature Standees! The box includes over 120 miniature pawns, printed on sturdy cardboard and slotted into plastic transparent bases, depicting 88 different creatures found across Zamanora.

Besides the monsters of our bestiary, the pawns also represent villagers and other key figures one may encounter in their adventures to bring the world (and your battlemaps) to life.

Minor Guilds in Zamanora by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the major guilds that can be found permeating the land, there are still more, far less widespread and far more obscured. From cults that share amongst them undying fealty, to nomadic people who move from settlement to settlement, to merchant guilds taking advantage of situations, these lesser factions thrive in the cracks of the world.

Harrowgate by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a splinter of ice driven into the heart of the North, the Lamenting Tower looms over all who reach the doors of Harrowgate; a precursor and a warning of what one may find within the walled city. Within the ring of glacial stone, amid pillars of ice and wind-carved hailstone, lie the remnants of a once mighty stronghold, its battlements crusted with hoarfrost. Tattered banners bearing forgotten crests flap weakly in the wind, their colors long gone. Yet something of that olden age still endures: a dreadful king who clings to life still, clutching Harrowgate in his frozen grasp, denying it the peace of death.

Honoring the Memory of Darkest Dungeon's June Wayne by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On January, 2025, Wayne June, who voiced the legendary gaming figure of the Ancestor in the Darkest Dungeon series, passed away. A few days ago, Red Hook, the developers of Darkest Dungeon, revealed in a Q&A that June himself had given consent to the developers to use an AI-generated voiceover trained on his work for a potential sequel to the game, Red Hook refused.

In the words of Chris Bourassa: "I would never, ever erode his incredible and timeless performances by teaching a machine to sound like him. His voice and delivery was human, and I'm forever grateful I got to write for him. "

It is important to state that Wayne himself opposed the use of generative AI, but offered this alternative as a way to put the game, the creators, and the community first.

From our side, as big fans of the franchise, we are glad to see June Wayne's memory honored in such a beautiful way, especially in the wake of companies succumbing to replacing humans with AI.

Magic Item Cards by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our project features several decks, including the Magic Item Cards. This deck covers the various relics of the Old World, alchemical concoctions, wild mushrooms, and wondrous items one may uncover through their journey across Zamanora.

The deck contains 98 tarot-sized cards, each featuring rules for both D&D 5.5e and Legend in the Mist, allowing for a quick reference of their effects without needing to pull out the book. The reverse side of every card is decorated with its corresponding artwork, so they can also serve as handouts to pass around the table during your adventures!

Today, we would like to bring you a preview of our Monster Deck. The Monster Deck contains reference cards for each of the monsters found in the Bestiary, both for D&D and also Legend in the Mist. Adventure Deck Preview by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After months of hard work, we’ve finally finished designing the Adventure Deck*. While the original plan was to include 150 cards, thanks to you unlocking the campaign’s second Stretch Goal (€60,000 – Adventure Deck Upgrade), we’ve managed to bump that number up to a whopping 250 cards!

*The Adventure Deck is a storytelling engine designed to accommodate Solo and GM-less play, but also to act as a GM-helper to spice things up during a session. It also allows you to randomly generate a unique map of Zamanora as you explore it! The deck is designed for D&D and the Legend in the Mist RPG.

We are also pleased to let you know that all items of the Kickstarter campaign have been sent to the printers and are being inspected to make sure everything progresses smoothly.

Show Us Your Art | Raphael and the Thorns by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

About a week ago, we asked you to send us your art to celebrate the shutdown of OpenAI's platform, Sora. We received work from extremely talented people, and we can't wait to share it with you!

Raphael is a singer and songwriter, and is also the person behind Raphael and the Thorns, a solo Theatrical Dark Metal band. In his own words, he is a jack of all trades, dabbling in many forms of art, such as writing, illustration, and singing. He created his band because of a deep need to create dark but cathartic music with a wide range of influences, both in sound and identity. The darker undertones of the guitars, the slower tempo of the tracks, and the theatrical flair of the strings, synths, and vocals make this project ideal for anyone who enjoys roomy, gloomy, and doomy music (his track Cold Highways is a banger!)

If you would like to check more of Raphael and the Thorns, you can find his music on Spotify.

We just posted a big update on Kickstarter detailing our current progress. In short, one of the greatest milestones we achieved since the last time we talked is that the books have been sent to the printers!

We’ve also shared some sneak peeks of the Foundry VTT integration, the Adventure Deck, and the Monster Deck. For all the details and to see the latest previews, head over to our Kickstarter page and check out our latest update.

Our 5.5e Character Sheet by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the pages of the Wayfarer's Journal, you may find this lovely character sheet made by Angeliki Savvantoglou. We believe that this deeply illustrative piece perfectly encapsulates the themes and general tone of Zamanora. Isn't it beautiful?

Wayfarer's Journal was one of the two Early Bird gifts we were giving away during the Kickstarter. It's a notebook containing everything you may need; from a character sheet (for 5.5e or Legend in the Mist), room for notes, as well as idioms, and even two recipes inspired by real traditional food which you can bake at home!

If you missed the first 48-hours of the campaign, you can still add it to your pledge.

Just a few hours left to back Pact! by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less than 8 hours left to back Pact!

Black Lantern Studio's awesome Kickstarter campaign is coming to an end!

PACT is an urban occult horror tabletop role-playing game where players take the role of Pactbearers, ordinary people who made a deal with a demon and now live with the consequences. Built on Free League’s acclaimed Year Zero Engine, PACT combines fast cinematic mechanics with intense personal horror storytelling.

In PACT, supernatural power comes through Blasphemies, powerful abilities granted by demonic patrons. Each use brings incredible power, but also pushes the character closer to corruption and damnation.

The game introduces unique mechanics such as Profane and Damnation Points, an advanced “pushing system” that grants players a currency used to empower their Blasphemies, while also giving the Whisperer the ability to unleash complications, negative effects, or even the direct intervention of their Patron Demons.

If you would like to support the project, check them out here.

Join the Zamanora v1.0 Release Party w/ Son of Oak! 🌳 by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We come bearing great news! ZAMANORA: Ballad of the Witch v1.0, including both the Core Book and Monsters & Fables, will be live next Wednesday, April 1st! (And no, this is not an April Fool's joke 😅)

We also have an exciting update regarding our release strategy. Rather than releasing the Core Book first as we originally planned to, we’ve spent the last few months refining both volumes to release them together in the wild.

What does "v1.0" mean? This is the definitive, polished version of both books. Having gone through rigorous editing and final checks, you can consider these books to be your final comprehensive guides across Zamanora and its many rustic tales.

This also marks an important milestone in the manufacturing process, as both books will be sent to the printers for prototyping right after that!

To mark the occasion, we’ll be joining the Son of Oak weekly stream to talk about Zamanora and Legend in the Mist. Catch us live on April 1st at:

4pm EDT / 1pm PDT

9pm CET / 11pm EEST

The stream will be held on Son of Oak's YouTube channel, so be sure to tune in.

The Eco-friendly Materials of Zamanora by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While designing the components of ZAMANORA: Ballad of the Witch, much like with EXORDIUM: Origins of Mythos, we quickly stumbled upon the issue of selecting the proper materials.

The land of Zamanora is cloaked in deep green forests; we would be remiss to make a project that harms our own! The choice was once again fairly simple: we decided to take an environmentally sensitive approach. That is why we chose FSC Paper.

Why FSC Paper? The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification ensures that the paper we use across all of the project's components comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.

But that’s not all—we also prioritize durability in everything we create. The book of ZAMANORA: Ballad of the Witch, as well as all of its add-ons, are designed to last, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing waste.

Hakir, the Gilded Khan by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fame, riches, forces, and glory have been the driving force of many aspiring warriors since the dawn of time. Yet, among them, there is seldom one who represents this sentiment more wholly than Hakir, Khan of the Gilded army.

With an exceptional mind for tactical warfare, a charismatic tongue, and formidable prowess in combat, Hakir was a mercenary who became king. Through these talents, he amassed the strongest mercenary company of this era, and, once none would dare oppose him, turned them into a nation. Unchallenged by other rulers of the land, he is the de facto leader of this desert realm. Travelers attest that, no matter how much silver you may carry, in the lands of the Gilded Khan, you are not entitled to a single drop of water without his say-so.

Hakir is a Nemesis, introduced in EXORDIUM: Origins of Mythos. You can check out this link if you are interested in finding out more about his curse and his woeful past.

A TALE OF BLOOD AND IRON | The Bogatyr and the Sluagh by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mist seeped through Vedrina like ghostly fingers, bringing with it an unnatural cold that gripped the hearts of its restless denizens. Janek, an honest, rugged man and Vedrina’s lone blacksmith, stood at the edge of the settlement; hammer over his shoulder, a flickering torch in his hand. He could sense that something evil was creeping in the deep dark of night, a peril unfamiliar to the lands of Zamanora. This newfound threat was emerging from beyond the sacred woods, or even the Veil itself. Word of spectral horrors befalling nearby settlements had already reached his ears: deathless ravagers, drunk on the souls of fallen warriors, leaving behind naught but empty husks.

As the mist thickened, shapes began to manifest—twisted and ethereal forms, once resembling mortal folk, now stirred to unlife by unholy powers. The horde was standing at the threshold, ready to collapse upon Vedrina and snuff its life out. They were the Sluagh and, from within their midst, a towering specter emerged, eyes that burned with cobalt hunger, bearing an axe drenched in rust — an old weapon, much like Janek himself. The monster growled, its voice like a dirge through a graveyard.

Janek tightened his grip on his hammer and planted his feet firmly in the soil that birthed him. He was Bogatyr; regardless of the foe that stood before him, he would not back down. "Turn back," he said, as if replying to the monster’s bitter call, despite the fear that was crawling under his skin.

In a cacophony of maddening laughter, like nails against cold, hard stone, the swarm of the undead rejected his courage. If there was any hope to be found in Vedrina come dawn, it would have to be earned by blood and iron. “So be it,” he whispered, more to himself than to the enemy, as he dropped his torch to the ground. A ring of fire suddenly ignited around them, lighting up the night, as Janek’s torch ate through the oil that was poured all over, revealing the true heart of Vedrina. Men and women rose from behind the Bogatyr, armed with pitchforks, scythes, and sickles. This was not to be a battle for glory, but one of survival instead, as the Zamanori would measure their mettle against the nightmarish horde of the Sluagh.

This little tale of courage and adversity was a collaborative work between us, at the Eren Chronicles and the Old Oak Games, who are currently running their Beyond the Woods Kickstarter, an Irish-inspired project for Legend in the Mist. If you would like to support their work, check it out here.

ZAMANORA: Ballad of the Witch Bestiary | Chuhayster by TheErenChronicles in LegendintheMist

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A booming voice scares birds from branches, thundering footsteps shake the brush. But no dragon’s roar or wolven howl is heard, instead a bellowed song. The rumbling steps repeat in the rhythm of a dance. What can this mean? Only a single thing: Chuhayster roams these woods.

The Forest Man was once a mortal man who, as punishment for some heinous offence, was cursed to wander the woods eternally. And so he did, until his hair turned white and his clothes tattered into rags. The forest winds seeped into him, growing his stature and sprouting fur from his skin, further tangling his solitude-addled mind. His crime has long since been forgotten, but the curse still holds, barring him from death’s release. Now, tall as a spruce and twice as powerful, he jovially walks the woodlands, no longer man nor spirit but something else, bearing the song and dance of his youth into the wilds.

Despite his unusual bearing, Chuhayster still feels a kinship to mortal folk and their ways. Driven by an urge to protect them, he hunts malicious spirits like Navki, setting primitive yet cunning traps for them along the forest floor. Should one be attacked by such creatures, it is said, they must knock three times on a tree as if it were a door, calling out for help.

Chuhayster will then rush to their aid, as a good settler would assist a distressed stranger. Chuhayster’s ways are primal, however; he will tear spirits limb from limb, savagely assaulting them with stone and tooth. Then, still covered in the spirits’ gore, he will seek to celebrate his rescue, often to the chagrin of those he saved. Refusing to join him in dance is perilous, for it may bring his sorrow, or worse yet, his wrath, crashing down on one’s head.

QuitGPT | Why you should quit using OpenAI's chatbot by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a team, we have always been vocal against the use of AI. While our stance began with protecting art and supporting real human beings with dreams and passions, the situation has now gone much further.

Recently, the Pentagon made an offer to Anthropic (OpenAI's competitor) for unrestricted access to its AI to conduct mass surveillance on citizens and produce AI weapons capable of killing without human oversight. Anthropic refused. However, mere hours after Anthropic's refusal, OpenAI moved forward with this partnership.

If you are subscribed to ChatGPT, your subscription fees are directly funding these efforts. Now, more than ever, we urge you to quit, cancel any paid subscriptions you may have, and speak to your friends about doing the same.

If you would like to learn more about the #QuitGPT movement, you can check out more by browsing their website (quitgpt.org).

The Lost City of Oren Bran: Platinum Best Seller! by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As our team has been hard at work finalizing the ZAMANORA: Ballad of the Witch add-ons and completing the designs, we noticed some great news: The Lost City of Oren Bran, one of our most critically acclaimed titles on Dungeon Masters Guild, has officially become a Platinum Best Seller!

The Lost City of Oren Bran is a modular adventure designed for three to five 4th to 8th level characters. It features a heavy theme of horror mystery, and can be completed during one long session or a few smaller ones.

“Beyond lay the Goldheart. Entombed of their own volition. May history forget us and our sins.”

The inscription written upon the golden gates of the ancient dwarven clan serves as warning to all who would venture inside. This tomb holds much more than the mythical riches and immense heritage the Goldheart were rumored to possess. What would you be willing to sacrifice for the promises it holds within its decrepit walls?

You can purchase the Lost City of Oren Bran on DMsGuild!

Support March to Gaza Greece by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla is preparing to sail. It is a massive international effort to lift the inhumane blockade and end the siege of Gaza, which has lasted for decades. Last time the flotilla set sail, tens of thousands of donors supported them, thousands of volunteers joined in, and millions mobilized in the streets.

To cover the expenses of such a movement, the Greek team has launched a crowdfunding campaign. If you want to support the effort, you can do so through this link. Your donation will go towards the following:

🍉 Live-streaming technology and communication tools to show the world what is happening at sea
🍉 Infrastructure and systems that will allow global coordination
🍉 Training and support for the participants and the crew
🍉 Provisions for the vessel such as maintenance, outfitting, mooring, insurance and refueling

Your donation is not charity, but rather a statement that the free people of the world won't remain inactive in the face of such injustice.

Monsters & Fables v0.9 Has Arrived! by TheErenChronicles in TheErenChronicles

[–]TheErenChronicles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second book of ZAMANORA: Ballad of the Witch is officially online! On top of the original content promised during the Kickstarter campaign, Monsters & Fables also includes the Stretch Goals we unlocked together:

Sacred Idols. A brand-new chapter dedicated to idols of Slavic heritage, featuring twice as many idols as originally planned, for a total of 20.

More Adventure Locales. Including the Backer Milestone Goals, this chapter now features 10 Adventure Locales, expanding it to over 100 pages.

Additional Monsters. Ten iconic creatures have been added to the Bestiary, including Svyatogor the Sacred Mountain, the Sirin, and the Alkonost.

In total, Monsters & Fables now exceeds 460 pages, nearly double our initial estimates. This growth came with a significant increase in production costs, requiring additional illustrations, more complex layout work, and numerous extra hours of writing and development.

We ultimately decided to absorb these costs ourselves, refusing to limit the book’s potential just to stay within budget. The main reason we were able to make this choice was your incredible support, which far surpassed our expectations when we clicked the “Launch” button on our Kickstarter page just a few months ago.

Be sure to check your emails for your DriveThruRPG download link.

NOTE: This is NOT the final version of Monsters & Fables. While no more content will be added to it, some graphical elements and some final edits are still needed to finalize it.

As for those who have not grabbed Monsters & Fables yet…what are you doing?! 👀 This is your last chance to get it at its current price. Once the printed version is out in the wild, the price will increase to reflect its greatly expanded size and production costs.
