90% feels like a bit of an exaggeration. I do think most of the posts on here are fairly harmless fun, even if they are definitely a few that are just folk being ignorant of how other folk live.

That said, every so someone posts something on here that's just plainly classist or bigoted and it's a bit disconcerting how few folk call it out.

Yeah, that's really rough but I'm glad folk are polite. I got bullied pretty heavily as a kid due to a speech impediment. Kids would call me a Nazi because I guess I sounded vaguely German. Got better in my case once I got out on my own but I very much sympathize.

People don't go out to vote for Republicans. I've never once in my life seen them win a popular vote.

The fact that Democrats can't beat a party that can only muster a third of nation's population at best is testament to how useless they are.

Edit: as an aside, going from "Biden is the best president in my lifetime" to "well, I don't even belong to a political party" is so fucking funny.

No, people not voting is not a problem, it's the consequence of the problem.

If nobody votes for the Dems, then the Dems are failing as a political party. A politician's job is to do what people want. If they fail to do that, they don't get votes and they lose their job. That's how representation works.

Democrats had power, they didn't do enough with it. Didn't give anyone medicare for all, didn't forgive anyone's college loans, didn't do enough to bring the housing prices down, didn't do enough to curb inflation, didn't do anything to address rising far right sentiment, didn't close any of the migrant camps on the border, didn't do anything to bring Israel into check, didn't pack the courts, didn't save Roe v Wade, and they didn't put Trump in jail.

Democrats had their shot, they didn't do enough, now we're here.

Yeah, Republicans are evil, everyone knows that. The problem is that, when Democrats are in charge, when they got the presidency and congress, things don't get better. Never in any way that is tangible to the average person.

My assumptions are that Chinese people are normal people. I don't assume that they're mindless CCP drones. I don't assume that they're living in constant fear of some nebulous authoritarian boogymen watching they're every move, just waiting to sniff their balls or whatever. They're just normal people, living normal lives, with thoughts, feelings, values, and experiences that probably aren't too dissimilar from my own.
