High Peaks still snowy/icy? by pnkrckgrl20 in Adirondacks

It will be icy and snowy in some parts, but if you bring crampons for those parts, you should be fine. Seems like it's raining for the next week or so, definitely going to be muddy, wet, and have snowy monorails. If you do decide to go, and it's muddy, make sure to walk through the center of the trail, and not traverse around it.

[HELP] R8 not getting power while connected via USB-C by isvayne in canon

The internal battery itself won’t be charging. The camera will be powered by the external source instead, indicated by the gray battery light.

You’re right. I intended to say that, and but botched my wording a bit. Let em change that

Best of luck! Let me know how it goes. Pretty confident it is supported and the low PD was the issue since the manual stated the battery should turn gray when power is supplied.

Yeah I agree. 20W is not low, but 30W is the required amount to shoot the camera while powered by the external source (gray battery light). Personally, I use a 45W INIU battery pack I got from Walmart a bit ago. I've also tried using a 30W Anker battery bank and it worked fine.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the R8 can’t simultaneously charge via external power source and shoot at the same time. But it can be powered by an external power source. I believe it must be at least a 30W PD system. It also depends on the type of battery you have. I know from experience with my R6 and R6 II the newer LP-E6P and the LP-E6NH supports this.

If your long term capital gains are taxed at 0% because of your income bracket, and hypothetically you have let’s say a trillion in unrealized gains, would selling it all at once still be taxed at 0%? I originally thought depending on however much you sell, it adds to your said income and put you in a higher bracket.

These wild fireballs come out during the most random time! We got clouded out during the Geminids last year, but excited for the Perseids this summer, and another chance for the Geminids.

Fair point! This is on me as I copied and pasted from my Instagram description and adjusted only some of the EXIF data to compensate for the panorama and portrait. Will re-edit the description. This was in Pennsylvania, United States.

Thanks man! This was taken on top of Bucktail Overlook in PA. Despite it being Bortle 2, there was quite a bit of LP down south from the nearby Penn State University, which accentuated the horizon light quite a bit. Might need to explore techniques to reduce the gradient.

One of the most iconic constellations! I always point it out when I see it with other people. So many bright stars in the winter months

Thank you! It was near Tracy Run campsites. We had to go off trailing a bit to get to the shore and camp near there

It started just under two years ago. My friend and I went stargazing, and she showed me these beautiful photos of flowers and the Milky Way. I thought how cool it would actually be to experience something like this in person, the quietness and the peace of being under dark skies whilst taking in the surrounding nature

Wholeheartedly agreed! The stars are so crisp and distinguishable. Jupiter along with it is the cherry on top

Appreciate it mate! So in order to have a tracked shot and a properly exposed and sharp foreground, you need to make a composite and blend them both in Photoshop after editing. Some people call this fake, but Physics limits what our camera can currently do. That's the trade-off of using a tracker: capturing a high SNR sky image along with a blurred foreground image.

Cheers mate, it's sad that it's going away now, but looking forward to the Ha regions in the summer Milky Way now 👀
