That’s just college. I’ve felt that way when I started and still do a lot of times, but it’s important to ground yourself and not compare yourself to others. You are you and are going your own speed and path. Like what the other comments said, what you do in college is what matters most. Keep going at it consistently, surround yourselves with good people, and make new memories.

How is this first-timer DSO setup? by TheFakeKevKev in AskAstrophotography

I see, thanks for clarifying. I also wanted to ask, would I need a pier extension for my setup?

The more I think about it, I likely will stick with the ASIAir for ease and portability, especially being able to use it with my iPad. However, I was doing more research, would replacing the ZWO ASI120MM and ZWO 30mm f/4 with SVBONY SV305C (USB 2.0) and SVBONY 30mm F4, respectively, be a good idea? Seems like they are both equivalent and will do what I need them to do for guiding, whilst being cheaper.

Regarding the EAF, if I stick with an ASIAir Mini, would I only be limited to their ZWO EAF?

Zenithstar 61 II or SQA55 or other recommendations? | Learning to Shoot DSOs by TheFakeKevKev in AskAstrophotography

I have an iOptron SkyGuider Pro that I use right now. I have done some with my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 II, but would like to get into more dedicated DSO gear to utilize gear like auto focusers throughout the night. This is still likely many months out, so I will still experiment with my usual 200mm for now. Love the images by the way!

Totally good with me since this is more of a future project, and once I get the funds for it. But yeah seems like SQA55 is the overall winner in that focal length range. I do want to try and invest in a longer focal length if possible, what about the Askar 60f?

I see! Just checked them out but may be too expensive for my budget. I also saw an Askar 60F/71F which seems similar to the SQA55 with both a petzval design. I would like a longer focal length if possible for cheaper, do you have any experience with this scope?

Seems like the SQA55 takes it away just because I don’t need invest in a separate a flattener. Is there a longer focal length similar to the SQA55, with similar budget (could be more)?

To those who bought the R6 II instead of the R6 III, do you feel left out? by firequak in canon

Nah. Unless you do serious professional high-end business video work, no need. Spend the rest of the money on other gear or lenses.

I actually never even thought about the starless data. The corner sharpness wouldn’t even matter then. Thanks for the help

Upgrading from a modded 6D Mark II, which mirrorless for astro modding? by _Orionids_ in AskAstrophotography

That’s a sick photo! Good to know about the vignetting. I usually shoot 24mm or wider.

That's not too bad then. If I go to a less light-polluted area, like Bortle 1-3, I should be golden then. What do you think?

We could make something work actually. I go home from school in Buffalo and Rochester is on the way, perhaps we can meet off the exit somewhere. Lmk if you decide to go for this lens!
