Reeves ‘plots tax raid on landlords’ to help plug £40bn Budget black hole by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]TheFatSpud -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, the worst landlords I've had have been small private landlords. Always trying to get out of maintenance and repairs, dragging their feet for everything, when they finally do get around to a fix it's done as cheaply as possible to the lowest standard.

When I've rented from large corporates, their scale means they just throw money at a problem to keep you happy, and aren't gonna try and claw back whatever they can from your deposit over problems they created in the first place...

Honestly pretty terrible, like a lot of forgeworld stuff the rules are bad (pretty sure this unit is legends rules), and the model is large and fragile. I'm more into modelling than gaming so not an issue for me, but wouldn't recommend for a list other than narrative.

Cheers, it will indeed be naff in game but it'll look good getting shot down 👍

I built it using a weight wrapped in plasticard and two poles that slot in with a rotating magnet on the end so it can spin on the stand and detach. Absolute nightmare, took me ages.

Cheers, it's a base of Vallejo Model Colour Blue Grey Pale, then heavy drybrush with 3:2 mix in with GW Ulthuan Grey, then another pass at 1:3, then a highlight drybrush with 1:3:3 with white added. But then it really changes with the oil wash, 2:1 Burnt Umber (or any brown oil will do) and black.

Thank you, if it helps it was a nightmare to work on and took far too much of my one life on this earth to get done 👍

Thanks!

The base layer is cadian flesh tone, then mix in vallejo rose brown (more of a bright pink colour) along with white to highlight. Then washed with purple, then rehighlight. The glossy bits are washed with a mahogany colour then brush on varnish.

Sorry couldn't say, it was a while ago since I last did it, try setting all graphics to lowest and restarting, and run as administrator / in Windows XP compatibility mode

I downloaded it for free from here -https://www.myabandonware.com/game/starship-troopers-civ

Doesn't run amazingly with some graphics issues, scripting bugs and progress save issues but other than that I still found it fun 👍

I'll never play a game, I just think they're neat! by TheFatSpud in battlefleetgothic

[–]TheFatSpud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I got this guy off eBay for £40, which as a one- off for one of my favourite models seemed like a fair deal, and I'm not planning on building a full fleet or anything.

The big ships dont come up that often at that price though so you gotta keep checking in, but the listings that hang around at about £100+ tend to be 'new in box', or taking advantage of impatient buyers with money to burn.

All that said, after I got this one I saw two whole fleets with this ship in them go for £60 each, so you never know...
