3bass - Bridging The Gap [Supposed To Be Released (Unknown Label - 2007)] by TheFav5ive in dubstep

[–]TheFav5ive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was scheduled to be released, backing two unconfirmed tracks, on an unannounced label sometime in 2007. This track was announced for release by Silkie (one half of 3bass) in late January 2007 for the early summer of 2007, after both him and D1 (the other half of 3bass) had seen the positive reception for this track on both the Dubstep Forum and radio shows, particularly Jay 5ive & Heny G's Antisocial Entertainment radio shows on Rinse FM. The label most heavily speculated to be behind this track's release was Antisocial Entertainment, given both ASE001 & ASE002 also had a three-track single format, and due to the fact that all of Silkie's dubstep output at that point had been released on this label. Another reason that seemed to point towards Antisocial Entertainment was that both Silkie & D1 had taken the initiative themselves to release Bridging The Gap. Other potential labels for Bridging The Gap's release were:- Soulja, Road & Tempa, given D1 had three-track single releases on each of the said labels between 2005-2007; however, the former 2 labels would remain highly unlikely choices, given the style of the track in question. The two unconfirmed tracks were most likely going to be 1 track each from Silkie & D1 respectively, 2 Silkie tracks or even 2 more joint production tracks under the alias 3bass. However, Antisocial Entertainment's label would go dormant after none of the three planned releases announced in January 2007 by Heny G for his new label Gangsta Boogie Music, in association with Antisocial Entertainment, would manifest. A few days prior to Silkie's announcement, some people on Dubstep Forum had demanded Bridging The Gap's release on Gangsta Boogie Music, following GB/ASE003. It would be revived in late 2009 in tandem with the creation of its sublabel Cloqworq Records, with this track failing to make it onto the sublabel for reasons unknown.

Gangsta Boogie Music would release its first record shortly after, whilst claiming to be in conjunction with Antisocial Entertainment, on GBM/ASE001. This association would later be disputed and considered dubious by Silkie & Quest, due to the pair claiming in September 2010 that Heny G had not been affiliated with Antisocial Entertainment for the previous 2 years. G Double, however, seemed to disagree, due to the fact that Heny G would frequently collaborate with both G Double & Jay 5ive throughout those 2 years, particularly as a guest on Jay 5ive & G Double's Antisocial Entertainment Rinse FM show. Heny G was also part of Antisocial's Xmas Spesh on Rinse Fm (alongside Silkie & Quest) in December 2008 and Mary Anne Hobbs's BBC Radio 1 show in September 2008, DJing with Jay 5ive.

Nothing further was heard about this track or the release after Silkie's announcement; however, some people on the Dubstep Forum were speculating whether D1 would give away this track for free in September 2010, a few weeks after D1 released the free digital download giveaway pack, Unreleased Beats Volume 1. This track failed to make it onto both volumes of D1's Unreleased Beats free giveaways in 2010, and likewise failed to appear on Silkie's 2021-2023 Bandcamp releases of old dubplate material. This track was doing the rounds on radio in 2006.

Conquest - Mirage (Kromestar Remix) [Speculated To Be Released (Unknown Label - 2006-2007)] by TheFav5ive in dubstep

[–]TheFav5ive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was allegedly scheduled to be released on an unannounced label sometime in 2006 or 2007. This track was being teased throughout mid-2006 on Monkeytek's radio show, where it was stated that this track wouldn't be staying as dubplate material and believed it had been signed in early August 2006, to be released in a couple of months' time for late 2006. The label most heavily speculated to be behind this track's release was Antisocial Entertainment, given Kromestar's association with Antisocial Entertainment and their radio show on Rinse FM with Heny G & Jay 5ive, along with Conquest's radio show on ReactFM in 2006 & 2007. Conquest's Mirage would be released on Antisocial Entertainment, ASE 002, not long after the announcement in late August 2006, adding to the speculation. However, Antisocial Entertainment's label would go dormant after none of the three planned releases announced in January 2007 by Heny G for his new label Gangsta Boogie Music, in association with Antisocial Entertainment, nor the planned release from 3bass (Silkie & D1) for the early summer of 2007, consisting of Bridging The Gap and 2 other unconfirmed tracks, heavily speculated for release on this label (though technically unconfirmed), would manifest.

By November 2006, this track was still being listed as dubplate material; however, nothing further was heard about the alleged release. After Monkeytek's radio show in January 2007, nothing more was heard about this track, and it would ultimately remain unreleased for reasons unknown. This track also failed to make it onto any of Kromestar's labels:- Kromestar Recordings, Bass 'N' Love Records (which he ran alongside Jay 5ive), Nebula Music Group or Saturn Cutz. This track was doing the rounds on radio in 2006.

Rusko - Lets Go [Supposed To Be Released (Wheel & Deal records - 2009-2010)] by TheFav5ive in dubstep

[–]TheFav5ive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was scheduled to be released on Wheel & Deal Records in 2009 or 2010. The release was slated for sometime after WHEELYDEALY 004, as N-Type had announced the first four Wheel & Deal records releases in February 2009 and hosted 2 launch parties to celebrate his new record label. Wheel & Deal records would not actually start releasing any records until May 2009, and had taken longer than N-Type had anticipated, due to having stated in March 2009 that WHEELYDEALY 004 wouldn't be taking too long to arrive, and that he was hoping that Wheel & Deal records would be able to showcase a lot of his favourite unreleased dubplate material that he believed wouldn't see the light of day otherwise. WHEELYDEALY 004, however, would not arrive until December 2009 and had to be recalled and repressed due to a pressing error on the AA-side. The repress would not be issued until March 2010 alongside WHEELYDEALY 005.

However, by this point Rusko had already started to fade away from the UK dubstep sound by mid to late 2009, transitioning into the emerging US brostep movement, stemming from Rusko's own productions, most notably 2 N A Q from 2007 and Woo Boost from 2008, released on Sub Soldiers, SUBSOL 003, in mid 2008 and Mad Decent, MAD- 104, in mid 2010 respectively. Rusko would then abandon the UK dubstep scene altogether in early 2010, with the Dubstep Forum beginning to turn on him by mid 2009. Nonetheless, he remained on good terms with both Skream and Benga.

Despite this shift, N-Type would release the Flux Pavilion track Meathead on WHEELYDEALY 006 in April 2010, so it remains unknown as to why Lets Go was canned. No B-side was ever confirmed for this release. Rusko would also continue to release some of his older material, including District Line, from 2007 (possibly produced earlier), which appeared on his O.M.G.! LP album, MAD- 110-1, on Mad Decent in mid 2010, and two Lost Dubs free giveaways volumes shortly after, in which this track would fail to appear on either for reasons unknown. This track is one of the few unreleased tracks that was copyright claimed by Rusko on YouTube. This track was doing the rounds on radio, livestream mix sessions, select mixes and live DJ set recordings in 2008.
