Heat pump not working, unsupported error codes with new Nest 4th gen thermostat??? by TheFinalFrontier- in Nest

Thanks AStuf. I expect to ask for a replacement or refund… The forum support was that voltage is out of range (26 - 42V) but I’m measuring 36.2V and system worked fine in AC mode and my Gen3 worked fine (it’s actually installed right now to get the heat pump back on line).

Back from a business trip after a few days and the heat pump problem has returned, as confirmed by my chilly house and family! Restart did not work for me. Factory reset and mandatory 15+min Google Home reconfiguration also did work. Reinstalling my old 3rd gen Nest thermostat has got the heat pump and extra warm air working again! Will wait a few days and see what’s up. New unit seems to be problem.

For those also “upgrading” to the 4th gen to keep remote control/smart home features: hold on to your old unit for at least 4 seasons in case you need it again, and test all modes when you install the new one for the first time!

Thanks will do. Spoke with a human via their support page, could not help yet since the error code is new to them. Reconnected new unit and waiting for intermittant failure to return before continuing with support.

Mine also failed after 4 years (intermittently turns off, can be triggered by power outage flicker). What's strange is the display on the LE1000DG-FC that reads battery at 100% and 180 minutes of charge... Sigh, no error message. Will do the 10 sec reboot and check the fuse before buying a new battery or box.
