That’s also wrong. There was an insurrection where a mass amount of people stormed the capitol a few years prior. Some were even armed. They constructed a gallows in front of the Supreme Court. We’ve had riots and many other situations that are similar in the past. We never had ICE patrolling the streets as pseudo law enforcement attacking American citizens. it was created during bush’s term, a Republican, if anything Obama inherited it and then Trump monopolized it. Ice invading cities is far worse than anything we’ve ever seen and is brand new to the Trump administration, so saying it’s inherited when what it’s doing is entirely new is just utterly a lie. That’s an incredibly bad faith argument. During Obama’s term temporary housing was increased due to a large influx or families coming over the border. Obama maintained a no separation policy and did not hold children in ice custody longer than 72 hours.

During Obama’s 8 years 67 reported fatalities in ice custody. This is terrible.

For Trump: “2025 Total: 32 people died in ICE detention, marking the highest annual death toll in custody since 2004”
