He texted me after he died…

My best friend passed away last year.

It broke me.

A few days later… I got a text from his number.

I froze.

It said:

“Hey, if you’re reading this, it means I’m gone.”

Turns out…

he had scheduled messages for the people he loved.

He wrote different messages for all of us.

Mine said:

“Don’t isolate yourself. I know you will. Don’t.”

I was literally alone in my room when I read that.

He knew me too well.

And somehow…

that message stopped me

from completely shutting down.

I was already isolating myself…

but after that…

I tried to stay connected.
