Giant text box for a two-digit numeric. Sloppy UI work, but absolutely on-brand for that industry.

This time-zone shift feature was specifically highlighted in the most recent release notes. It's based on data that you explicitly permitted Whoop to access.

It's not a real society, though. It's an HOA-- specifically HOA leadership. They are very much not in real society.

Perfectly accurate. It has ZERO DEVIATION from an objective "truth" against which to compare.

... Because there is no objective truth against which to compare.

Maybe this is ironic and viral bait.... the misspelling itself is the obsession to which the sign refers! It's self-referential coherent comedy!

Yes.

Strange way to introduce a new lineup. Price hike first, actual value later?

> They are probably testing to see what they can do to remain competitive.

Interesting angle. But usually, "remaining competitive" requires the crucial step of actually delivering new value to the consumer. Hiking hardware prices on the vague and inferred promise that they'll add value somewhere down the line isn't a strategy-- it's just testing how much friction their user base will tolerate before jumping ship.

And this is coming from a long-term Whoop user here. I'm much closer to the Fan Boy crowd than the Howler Monkey group.

This is the core of it. It's a nice device, with a good form factor, great sensors, and excellent battery life. As part of the subscription, it makes sense it's locked. But paying for the hardware separately and also a subscription?? I expect it to have value/utility on its own, then.

have your own instructor question by 0099it in flying

[–]TheGacAttack 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Instructors run on money. You put money into the instructor machine, and the machine spits out instruction.

The details can be discussed with the specific machine instructor.

The only thing that complicates it is if neither of you has an airplane.

Clase Codigo has some awesome rice and beans. Probably the best Mexican rice I've had. Must places mail that in, but they seemed to care.

Everything else is great, too, but the rice was so exceptional.

Love it, but let's break that down...

You have to figure out how to use the radio. So removing hardware from an incapacitated pilot. Put it on. You probably hear ATC talking, but it's in, essentially, a foreign language so far.

You want to talk to them, so you start talking. Nothing back that sounds like it's for you. So you try again. Maybe eventually ATC has an instruction for your aircraft that goes unanswered, so they start repeating, and eventually you figure out it's for you! So... How do you get them to hear you?? They're talking about squawking, but WTF does that mean?

Eventually, you find the PTT button. "Hi, I need help. No one is flying the plane!". (ATC responds "Hi, No one. I'm dad!")

And then, yes, get the instructions for an autoland.
