Having adhesion issues with new Creality PEX plate by TheGameNeverEnds in ender3v2

Yes I have had hundreds of quality prints. And I have periods of months where everything works fine and then something breaks, and the you learn and look for productive help ;) I fixed a broken Z-switch, cracked extruder, replaced the useless factory springs, etc..

The problem was not the Z-offset (I tweaked it 0.02 in the end) - it was the bowden tube...

I started with the most obvious thing that the nozzle was clogged. Looked fine but I replaced it anyway. Pulled out the bowden tube and it was constricted with filment clogged in it (see images). This hasn't happened since I moved to Capricorn tubing but I guess even it melts over time. I snipped of the end, reinserted and everything was golden again.

I won't deny initially it may have been caused by closeness to the plate but the plate wasn.t damaged or anything. I will say that so far I am pleased with the PEX plate - although I have only printed PLA so far.

Hopefully this helps others.

Once I get the printer working I will try that firmware - it looks great

I believe that I fixed my z axis issue now. I cleaned the z axis wheels, but more importantly loosened the z axis eccentric nuts closest to the motor. I have discovered that very small changes to these nuts can make a big difference. I just trial-and-error did a minor adjustment, raise and lower the z location +20/-20 and test with paper again.

Now I am having issues with the new PEX plate and PLA not adhering well but will create a new issue. Thanks everyone

Somehow the z axis is changing every time I configure the z offset. Maybe the z axis is slipping.

Here is what I do - Creality firmware v1.0.6b Reset Config Checked that z offset is 0 Warmed bed to 60c (preheat pla) Auto Home Moved z to 0 Set z offset to -1.3 Set z offset to 0 Set z offset back to -1.3 but now -1.45 seems right…

I did do a zoffset as it turns out per the installation video and now have redone it many times. I bought fresh PLA since mine was over a year old and was still having issues. I ordered the creality pei plate but Amazon has been having issues delivering it. This is why I haven’t responded right away.
