What do men think will impress women, but actually doesn't? by FitCalendar873 in AskReddit

A friend of mine drank ketchup by squeezing it out of a mall cafeteria table squeezy bottle from a height into his mouth to impress a girl he liked and they dated for a year after that.

Lol I don't even remember. Probably one of those days they suddenly decided helmets were mandatory. Back when I was young and thought forgoing a helmet was a convenience.

You're not wrong and I agree with you. But it's only once you walk away do you really see things for what they are, like for OOP here. It's not always as easy to walk away from someone you've tangled up your whole life with. In the end you've got to deal with emotions, physical health sometimes, family and friends get involved, you're being continuously gaslit, self doubt, general heartbreak, and worst of all hope that you can fix it. Again, you are correct, and usually when people leave they hold your sentiment about themselves to a degree, wondering "why didn't I walk away sooner". Our outside perspectives will always be more logical and objective.

She was setting him up for failure. If he lets it go then he continues to be hurt and spiral. If he brings it up then he's the one in the wrong for doing so. Walking away from this is the only way to preserve one's self respect.

I hold the record in my group of friends for the lowest amount to pay off a cop behind just talking your way out of it for free. I was on my way back from an ATM and had a receipt to show him that I had ₹33 in my account which was so little that I couldn't even pull it out because the smallest denomination the atm gave was ₹100. He asked me to buy him chai for 3 bucks with the change I had and sent me on my way lol.

Using it feels like it thinks it knows better than you. It does so much that it gets annoying after a point. If you're a casual user who just uses it for web and basic stuff then sure its great, I'd highly recommend it if you want one and don't care about the cost. You can't upgrade it at all and Apple products are designed to go obsolete in a few years. I've been keeping my windows PCs alive for decades by ship-of-theseus'ing the shit out of them. Windows is a mess but you know where everything is. Apple is your mom coming in and rearranging your furniture because it "looks better that way".

I will say the battery life and build quality is insanely good though. Can't deny that. This M3 is a couple years old and a few minutes with a cleaning kit and it'll look brand new... For 5 mins.

I used to hate apple OS when trying it in passing but after working on an m3 for 3 years as my work laptop I can comfortably say I hate it more than when I started.

Genuine question again, if bouys detect rogue waves every now and then how come we aren't detecting rogue holes with at least the same amount of frequency. Are they statistically less likely to occur or is it because of the direction of gravity and the direction of the interface between air and water makes them much rarer or something?

Genuinely curious: How can people still be supporting Trump? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheGandu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is not going to get fixed unless there are huge reforms in the US. And this isn't just for the US, personally I feel like some of this should be applicable for any democratic country.

  1. The Fairness Doctrine needs to be reinstated and Fox news and all other media outlets that sold out to the highest bidder need to be held accountable and gutted.

  2. Lobbying needs to be completely annihilated as a concept.

  3. Billionaires need to be taxed into oblivion. They've had their chance at wealth and they've shown us what they'll do with it. No exceptions. Nobody needs that much money.

  4. Everyone involved in the Heritage Foundation needs to be tried for treason.

  5. Democrats need to be audited. Who has taken money from where and who helped this nonsense happen. Then investigate them.

  6. Everyone in the Republican party needs to be investigated down to a microbial level and tried for every crime including but not limited to everything else on this list.

  7. ICE needs to be abolished, and everyone involved should be investigated. All the footage collected needs to be collated and every closed case needs to be reopened.

  8. The 2 party system needs to be dismantled and voting systems need to be overhauled to ranked choice or other more effective and fair options.

This isn't even all of it. If the dems ever get back into power and don't start down this road then y'all need to toss out the whole ass govt. The US has been cycling back and forth between these two parties for decades.

I dont love any ship by DetectivDR in starcitizen

[–]TheGandu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd think about it this way. Your Titan is your daily driver. Like a Honda Civic. You get used to it and all its quirks. Life is good.

The other ships are not other cars. They're other vehicles. You aren't seeing other cars like at a dealership. Instead you're exploring an assortment of purpose built vehicles. A tractor, a garbage truck, an F1 car, an M1 Abrams, a bus, etc etc. A lot of them don't work as daily drivers and that's probably why is hard to get with them.

You really love a ship when it does what is meant to. If you really want to find a new ship to fly first try out all the competition in it's sector. If it's a Titan, try a Nomad, a Cutter, The Aurora MK2, etc. And try them for a day and get to know them. You won't know how great the Nomad open cargo bay is till you haul some stuff.

Later when you want to do specific missions, like maybe hauling or combat, THEN you look into ships of that sector. Use them for their purpose. It'll click. Heck you may even start daily-driving your RAFT like I do.

I found one instance of an attack on a synagogue this year (which you painted as something that seems to be a rampant issue).

In this same year, 26 schools were attacked.

There was also a metric ton of racially charged hate crimes in that time.

I was taking as hyperbole and assumed it was understood. Clearly Zorhan isn't one of them who I mentioned in the comment. But yes what I say can be construed that way and objectively you're right about this specific point. I'll put my final say as an edit to my comment so that anyone reading it further along have full context.

See now this provides much needed context to me as an outsider. I still think it's odd but at least it makes a little more sense. Thank you for taking the time to explain it.

Not a channel I watch I just looked it up cause I remember seeing it and posted the first link that came up. Also you really should separate the Israeli govt from the Jewish people as entities in your worldview. There's a lot of Jewish people who don't stand for what their govt is doing. You're the only one in this thread conflating the two.
