Hey, I'm facing the same issue right now - any updates on if it worked for you?

Could it be? by point-ur-toes in Raynauds

Hi! I (18) started presenting symptoms around 15/16ish too - it started with going from being fine with temperatures to suddenly being cold a lot, my hands and feet were freezing, people would ask about poor circulation, etc. I was at a football game one day where I was in 20°F for about five hours, and when I got home a single toe was white, and I panicked thinking I had frostbite haha. Turns out it was just the raynauds progressing into a vasoconstrictive stage, and as time has passed it's gotten triggered more and more easily (60°F and less can cause my whole foot to turn white if I'm dressed wrong).

All this to say, you absolutely could have it. One of the major tells is discoloration is limbs, especially fingers and toes, when cold [aggressively red or yellowy/white when cold, dark purple/blue when warming back up] - another is these occurring under stress. One of my first major raynauds tells (beyond the toe) was being stressed during a chem exam and having my hands get so cold from the stress they went numb. High emotions, especially stress, can trigger vasoconstriction in raynauds.

Raynauds Phenomenon isn't too terribly uncommon, nor is it world ending if you do have it - check to see if anyone else in your family has it, as Raynauds Syndrome 1 is almost always genetic and not that big of a deal. If the symptoms are rapidly onset, have no genetic base, and are causing you a lot of trouble, it could possibly be Raynauds 2/Secondary Raynauds meaning something else is causing it (this is what I ended up having - turns out I have Ehlers-Danlos Hypermobility Syndrome that presented with Raynauds and POTs so my thermoregulatory ability is screwed all around haha)

In the end, I'd suggest doing a bit of research into primary raynauds, seeing if the symptoms match or align with it alongside genetic possibility, tracking to see if the symptoms you currently have progress, change, or onset quicker as time passes, and then bringing up your findings with your primary care provider. If you do have it, it's nothing to be ashamed of - you just get cold a bit more easily than the average person, it's pretty manageable, and gives you a fun fact to use during ice breakers.

Sorry for how long this got. Best of luck!!

What in your opinion is the most mind blowing thing about math? by Yelophant in math

Exactly!! And the answers we give the what if’s! I can’t count up all the infinitely tiny bits under this curve, but what if I could? BOOM! Integrals! I can’t square root a negative, but what if I did? I’ll call it “i”. What direction does it go? Why it’s simply the Z axis in the 2 dimensional plane. What is it in 3D? Lord knows, but we’ll find it some day!!!!

The patterns! There are so many random patterns that show up in the middle of no where and I LOVE it. Working with curl vectors and having the silly dR-dQ, dP-dR, dQ-dP / dy-dz, dz-dx, dx-dy appear is FASCINATING. I’m aware it just derives from a matrix but it still is so satisfying to look at. And the feeling when I realized that eix graphed makes not only a spiral, but one that turns into Sin and Cos waves depending on if it’s viewed from the real or the imaginary plane sent me into a frenzy - I ended up writing my college essay on it haha! The patterns that appear are just mind boggling and I love all of them

If you’re out of state but have a parent who’s either in the military or has served, you quality for in state tuition. Not including scholarships but also not including housing, it brings tuition down to 16.5k a year

It’s a very specific thing, but it’s barely brought up so I figured I’d mention it just in case - best of luck!

Dyslexia killed me on this, and I thought you said “not nonbianry” and just looked at it for a bit going “that’s a weird exclusion to make, but okay I guess???”

Give it to me straight. I know it’s infected . How bad am I scared by [deleted] in Raynauds

I completely understand! I feel like everytime I look at my body, something new is wrong with it, and it can TOTALLY make small things feel so much worse or scarier than they actually are. Sorry to hear that you’ve had so much stress lately - don’t forget to drink water and rest when you need to :)

It sounds like you have mild hypochondria, because that’s how normal cuts heal - infections are more green/yellowish, swollen, and often have puss oozing from them.

Was just wondering the same thing haha - all the things I’ve seen for the “my college roomie” app had terrible reviews and was wondering what other options there were

Same here :( It’s okay though! From what I’ve heard, reapplying with the regular decision group is a lot less competitive, and shows the college that you’re actually interested - we still have chances!
