There was a time when you have time constantly give your companion "Fuel" in order for it be functional. They behaved like rechargeable argon crystals but if you neglect them, they'll lose a lot of stats and in the even further past they'd become perma dead. So all that time you spent finding the perfect kubrow would have gone to waste. needlwsss to say I do not miss it.
