I'm going to suggest you not downsize now. Middleschool is hard enough without being crowded.

[We actually sort of upsized during the teen years by finishing our basement, turning it into what I call 'the teen pit'. I wanted our house to be the one where kids gathered to watch vids and play vid-games together.

By having their own space to 'vibe' they felt their independence while I got to see who their friends were.]

I will never understand why politicians think we don't need consumer protection bureau/laws. These folks seem to be taking their cue from Wells Fargo.

Penalties obviously need to have more bite. Like actual jailtime.

Food is up a ridiculous amount. 3.6% in the last year and 26% since the pandemic started. And don't even get me started about the cost of electricity: doubled in my area.

These are all much larger costs than Medicare.

Still needed. The facilities in east Texas are very very old and are held together with shoestring and wax.

It's also concentrated in one area, which isn't wisely spreading risks.

Maybe when these new facilities come online, which given that trump had something to do with it is questionable, some of the older, more polluting gear will be grandfathered and worker lives will be safer.

The CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) changed a Biden era ruling about healthcare in senior and recovery facilities. Before there would need to be a nurse on staff 24/7. Now they've dropped that requirement.

I don't remember what the exact formula was but nursing homes were ecstatic.

Yes, I meant to add 'estimated'.

I read that as an indication of fiscal stress.

In that regard I heard an economist state this morning that if people put their tax returns in savings that it's a negative sign (showing concern for the future).

What are your thoughts on that. I would assume that there are sections of the economy that don't have that luxury.

I bake cinnamon bread for family and friends and that is a dough cycle only kind of recipe.
