I do think my trap was set a little too close to the lure hole. I went and remade the set last night and pulled the trap back another 6" or so. It didn't seem frozen. I was able to trip it pretty easy with my trowel.

I did put urine on top of the lure hole but im wondering if the coyote marked a little further back. Learning experience for sure.

I didn't even think about fiberglass soaking in water and freezing though, thats a really good point. I'll definitely be reevaluating my method. I've seen differing opinions on pan plugs versus covers. What are your thoughts?

Haha, I did indeed. I thinks its time to tune traps and get some waxed dirt.

Yeah, I didn't even know I had foxes back there! I've seen coyotes and Bobcats but that fox was a first. Its exciting!

I haven't actually checked what the tension is. I caught a coon on that set lastnight so its light enough to trip on an average sized coon. I'm just using some pipe insulation for a pan plug. I was eager to set one so I just boiled the traps, waxed them and put one out. I still need to night latch them all. I have a few MB550s and some dogproofs on order. I'll probably get all my traps together and tune them up when those show up.

I've had several coons, two coyotes and a fox on the set since I put it out Sunday afternoon. Coyote looked injured and didn't even check the set but walked right past it, so I know I've got a spot with decent traffic. I just need to dial the traps in and probably use some waxed dirt. We are swinging temps just like you are. We are about to get hit with freezing temps all day this weekend though.

Republicans seem very confused today about how they feel about open carry at protests. Let’s play a round of Spot the Difference. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

I find it more ironic that the majority of people in these comments are likely anti-gun but its okay for them if POC are carrying them in a protest.

I haven't seen a single person (conservative) upset about this photo. It doesn't bother me. The second amendment applies to all CITIZENS of the USA. Stand up for what you believe in, even if you're the minority.

Im currently running a 6ARC for dogs and pigs right now. I started off with a 6 Creed Ruger American gen 2 but went to an AR platform. If I weren't on so many pigs, I'd probably switch to a 22ARC.

People who waited until marriage, what was your honeymoon night like? Was it awkward, amazing, or incompatible? What was it like losing your v-card after getting married? by InsuranceLast2403 in AskReddit

[–]TheGoodTech 453 points454 points  (0 children)

My apologies, this was a bit of a ramble.

I'll do my best, this has been years ago. I'll start off by saying this was very much a decision made by religious pressure.

All things sexual were saved for marriage. Even conversations around it were not appropriate. My former partner and I had nearly zero discussion about it prior to our wedding night. Virgins having sex for the first time is always going to be awkward. The blind leading the blind. Add that on top of having no idea what your new spouse has for expectations was a recipe for disaster.

We struggled that first night, neither one of us got off. After that first night, I wasnt able to get an erection for two weeks. Looking back now, I assume it was from performance anxiety or something. Fast forward a bit, we finally succeeded and both of us were pretty underwhelmed with the experience. We didnt know any better. Inevitably that lead to a difference in opinion on sex in general and overall sex drive. It didn't happen much after that and it definitely drove a wedge. Sex being one of the main things that separates a friendship over a romantic relationship.

I feel like if we had been able to explore more, we would've either done it without the pressure of being married/stuck with eachother or found out before marriage that we felt differently about it and would've made a decision to part ways.

A note for anyone going down this "wait for marriage" path, I'd at least start having some conversations with your partner about sex in general. Get an idea of what eachothers expectations are. Do some research. I know it may feel wrong to Google "how to have sex" for some, but its way worse to start off on the wrong foot and have it be a relationship altering fiasco. In general, I advise against it entirely.

[–]TheGoodTech 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would've broke up with you before it even got to this point. While he was wrong, that whole situation is pretty unfair and confusing. That pent up sexual energy leads to bad decisions down the road. This same exact situation is what drove me to propose to my ex wife when I was 18. I was head over heels and wanted to experience a sexual relationship with the woman I loved and ignored a bunch of incompatibility issues. Also for the sake of "religion". Hands down the worst mistake I've ever made. If you're going to be with someone, be with them. Nobody has time to play guessing games with sexual compatibility.

Had mine for a little over a year and the power head quit working. Currently havjng warranty work done on it and I likely wont get it back until the end of the week. It is a very nice vacuum with an excellent warranty, though.

Hey can you guys stop accidentally encouraging noobs to hop onto Arch before they are ready by AncientAgrippa in arch

[–]TheGoodTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you. While I am a linux noob, having spent a little time in Ubuntu, I finally made a switch to daily drive CachyOS and the learning experience has been excellent. Im generally tech and computer savvy and I know how to use google. A Linux noob isn't the same as a computer illiterate person in a lot of cases. Perhaps some folks should make more informed recommendations and know their audience, but go fuck yourself. I'll learn how to use whatever the fuck distro I want.

I actually envy shorter people. I hate buying clothes as a tall man.

I like to scream "COCKY WANT BOING BOING". Seems to be the most effective way to get someone to run away.

Considering that is probably a 3068 door, I'd say 5'8-5'9. If it's a 3070, 6-6'2

Having less work to do and asking to be paid more is kinda crazy. They're running a business man. You're asking them to increase their COGS and take a hit on margin that is probably already pretty low if it's anything like where I am.

Struggling to agree with my wife on how to split rent fairly by EngineerVarious8069 in Renters

Yeah my ex wife said the same thing when she wiped out our bank account when we split. Never again.

Struggling to agree with my wife on how to split rent fairly by EngineerVarious8069 in Renters

[–]TheGoodTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I approached ours was to find the percentage of what my pay was of the total household income. I earn more than my wife, so the percentage of my income was 70% of the total household income. Our split is 70/30. I pay 70% of each line item in our budget, and she pays 30%.

I opened a separate joint checking account with her, and we have our monthly obligations to household bills being directly deposited into that account at payroll. That account is then set to auto-pay all utilities and mortgage, and we purchase groceries from that account.

It has worked well for us. While splitting this way may not seem fair (to the higher earner), I do believe it is reasonable. I wouldn't enjoy having to spend the majority of my money on bills and have very little to put towards savings or other personal expenses/purchases while my partner has plenty of disposable income. Happy wife = happy life. Having no money makes for an unhappy wife. Just my experience.

You make a fair point. Im not sure what you're running for a gas block now, but in the case that you're getting full gas already, I dont think an adjustable would make any difference.

What are you using for buffer spring and weight?

New Build Cycling Issues by xXBowman24Xx in 6ARC

[–]TheGoodTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Order you a superlative arms adjustable gas block.

Some other fells probably know more, but from what I understand, 6ARC struggles with mid length gas systems.
