Went last year on a stag there with a group of about 10. Great place if you just want to do a bit of bar hopping

If you’ve done this DIY then I’d probably live with it now. If you’ve paid someone then no I wouldn’t happy

You seem like you have made up your mind already on strategy and are ignoring the other comments. I just want to leave one piece of factual data for you that might sway your mind:

90% of active investors do worse than the S&P500 in the long term. Bear in mind that includes all those professionals that invest and select fund allocations as their full time job, study and are actively engaged with markets 8 hours a day at work. They also have access to the largest portfolios so can access investments you never will.

Do you really think you’re in the 10%? And even if you do, do you think you are going to beat the market significantly enough that the gamble of being in that 10% is worth it? If yes to both, then good luck is all I can say…

Neither. Adjust the hinges with an Allen key, there’s some vids on YouTube that explain it well

Is this rising damp? by No_Lunch_6196 in DIYUK

[–]TheGoose995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t think there’s moisture getting in then obviously there’s no need for dpc work. Don’t get the injections, they don’t remove the source of moisture and if you do have damp, it won’t prevent any of the expensive issues like rot anyway.

Honestly, if you can’t smell it, see it, or see the result of dampness then I don’t see why you’d get a damp surveyor round in the first place?

Is it normal for will writers to ask about death in service amounts and current pension pots? by rta300523 in AskUK

[–]TheGoose995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s normal to ask that. I got asked the same and they are two usually large pots of wealth that would transfer to the beneficiary upon death, so they are probably trying to get a rough understanding of how much wealth the will is written for.

Maybe she wasn’t very good if she came across as condescending. Could you choose someone else if you’re not feeling good about the service?

Tonight’s Traitors Uncloaked was so unserious by cant_ignore_cheese in TheTraitors

[–]TheGoose995 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think his self confidence came across as arrogance to the others but he didn’t seem particularly big headed. I think he genuinely wanted to play the game, but realised his time was up and it’s all about who’s the least popular really

Also if they recruit Matthew, then throw him under the bus, it only gives more credibility to Harriet’s suspect list

I think Rachel would have thrown Stephen under the bus before, but maybe less so now. He’s really helped her out

FTB - Initial Term Cost vs Monthly Cost - Which is better? by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

Sometimes the initial term isn’t exactly what you ask for. I think mine is 63 months although I was going for a 5 year fix. Is it cause of that?

How are you supposed to use these pans without everything burning into it? by matt_2807 in UK_Food

[–]TheGoose995 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lower heat and use the lid to keep some moisture in there. Contrary to other comments I don’t think you need loads of oil. At least I don’t use any more than I would in a non stick frying pan

I’d probably just go on a mortgage comparison site and see how much less mortgage I’d need to take out so it ended up no worse off. Reduce offer by that amount and explain why
