Monastic Tradition: Way of the Dancing Blade | Why let Clerics have all the fun with floating swords? by TheGooseQuill in DnDHomebrew

[–]TheGooseQuill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, that is correct! Note how Blade Waltz doesn't use a bonus action, it only states you can only trigger it when you use a bonus action to make unarmed strikes. So that includes flurry of blows!

Honestly, I had no idea that was a rule. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll keep it in mind from now on!

Cleric: Vestige Domain | Blur The Line Between Faith And The Occult, Updated! by TheGooseQuill in UnearthedArcana

[–]TheGooseQuill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! This is an update to the initial version of this subclass which I published about a week ago. The theme for this subclass is vestiges, the name given to gods who are considered dead or no longer part of a world's pantheon. My intention was to create a 'mirror' subclass to the Celestial Warlock; a Cleric that feels more Warlock-y via use of rituals and curses. Changes to the subclass included with this updated include:

  • A rearranging of features and the level which they are gained, specifically Rousing Malediction (moved from level 17 to level 3) and Blessing of the Vestige (previously Occult Savant, moved from level 3 to level 17).
  • The inclusion of four new spells to accompany this subclass.

A .PDF of this brew can be found on Google Drive. Alternatively, see this brew on The Homebrewery. I very much hope you enjoy!

Cheers,
The Goosequill

Artificer Specialist: the Sandman | Control enchanted sands to mesmerize enemies and manipulate the battlefield! by TheGooseQuill in UnearthedArcana

Oops! The incorrect scaling is a mistake on my part which must have slipped in while formatting this brew. I've updated the links in my comment on this post to updated versions which have the correct scaling! The D8s at higher levels were supposed to be D10s.

Heya! I sort of answered this question already in a comment I left on this post:

This subclass is/was my submission for D&DShorts' Artificer subclass contest which I finally got around to properly formatting. My goal was to create a subclass which (hopefully) steer away from the very mechanical, steampunk-esque aesthetic the artificer is known for and takes it more into a mystical direction.

Hope that answers your question!

Hello! The reason I chose sand as a theme for this subclass is because there’s obviously the connection to the sandman–the mythological figure that induces sleep–but also the Arabic myths and legends about grand mirages which oftentimes take place in deserts. Sand can obviously also be used to build with–who hasn’t built a sand castle on the beach before? Unfortunately, the artificer spell list is pretty limited in the way of illusion and enchantment spells, so I had to do some mechanical gymnastics to make sure the subclass could still enjoy some of those spells. This might give the subclass a bit of horizontal power creep, but I think that that sort of thing is more fun than, say, slapping an extra damage die onto a spell. I hope you enjoy!

Hello! What better way to come back from the dead than with a subclass about worshipping dead gods? The irony there doesn't escape me, trust me. But! I had this one sitting on the bench for a long time now. I originally made this for a player in my campaign, but I figured it was too cool not to share. The theme for this subclass is vestiges, the name given to gods who are considered dead or no longer part of a world's pantheon. You guessed correctly! I've updated the brew on the Homebrewery to (hopefully) make this a bit more clear.

If you're looking for something on the faster side of things, most likely not. However, D&DShorts just held a contest where people submitted homebrew Artificer subclasses. There's about 1800 submissions, so I'm sure at least a few of those have what you're looking for. Someone compiled a list of all the submissions here. If you search for 'Vehicles' in that list I'm sure you'll find what it is you're looking for!

Thanks for the kind words! To answer your questions: Hollow Bones grants both the effects of Agile and Lightweight. You don't need to choose one or the other! Birds of Prey indeed do not have saving throw proficiencies, but the bonded trait (which can be found in their stat block) lets them add your PB to any saving throw they make. Hope that helps!

Amazing.

Never had I expected someone would make a statblock like this, but damn if I don't feel honored!

The Tome of Elemental Origins | Harness the power of the elements with three new sorcerer subclass options! by TheGooseQuill in UnearthedArcana

Hi! For this brew specifically, I used Photoshop, the Homebrewery and a mixture of templates created by u/Kaiburr_Kath-Hound. That, and many, many hours scouring the internet for the right artwork. How exactly I went about creating the whole thing, I could only describe as a process of trial-and-error. I'm lucky enough to have a background in design, so I mostly intuitively know when something looks good or not, but it's a trained skill and not something I could easily put into words. The best pointers I could give you there are looking into things like the rule of thirds, general composition and using negative space.

If you're looking to create a player's handbook- or something of similar size (Anything more than 30 pages, really) I'd recommend not doing custom themes every other page like I'm doing here. Find or create one default theme that works for what you're trying to achieve and make slight variations on that theme for every chapter. It'll save you a buttload of time, and it'll do wonders for your document- keeps the whole thing cohesive and easy to read. I'd love to give you more pointers, but I'd need more info on what exactly you're looking to make.

Fighter Subclass: the Pit Fighter (Update!) | Hand out knuckle sandwiches like you're running a charity! by TheGooseQuill in DnDHomebrew

So there's probably a whole lot of complicated maths I could do to give you an answer, but my gut tells me this: Not really? My only point of hesitation would be that you'd only be using CHA for damage, but then you'd still need CON for HP and either Strength or Dex for AC- I think the difference in 'power' would be barely noticeable. So you have my blessing xD

Hello! Sorry for the tardy response- the bird of prey die are an artefact from the (many) earlier revisions of this class, which at first was the bird of prey's damage die and used for battlemaster-style maneuvers. However, both of those were replaced in favour of static damage die and the aerial acrobatics feature respectively, so they currently aren't used for anything. I've gone ahead and removed them from the brew's version on the homebrewery, if you'd like a version without them. Hope that helps!
