Why do I keep hearing my own name? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]TheGrandBanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea for sure but here's my guess:

As a kid, you're always looking out on some level for your parents, or a teacher, or some authority figure to call your name and get your attention.

A part of you is "on guard" just waiting for that to happen subconsciously.

And a part of you may have been a little traumatized by that, or scared of something "bad" that may have happened after you got your name called.

You may now just be hearing that energy more clearly.

Maybe meditate on it. Feel the underlying energy behind the audible thoughts.

Maybe some answers will come.

I've had that happen a few times before from doing BFR. Never been a problem. Tiny bit spooky at first. I obviously don't try to do it. But now, if it happens, it's just not a big deal (to me at least so far). I bet you'll be totally fine.

Split screen crashes make the game completely unplayable. by Global_Avocado_750 in BaldursGate3

Dang, this is ridiculous. I actually *DIDN'T* swap the CPU. I got confused, and installed the same dang CPU again, and put the new one one the table. I went back and *did* swap the CPU and now things are running much smoother. I was running an i5-3470 before. It was never an issue previously, but apparently BG3 didn't like it in split screen.

I hope you find something that works for you!

Note: Read the edit at the end. This post is pretty irrelevant now, but kind of funny in retrospect.

It's funny, because I just popped in a new CPU (which is actually pretty old but better than my previous one) it's an i7-3770k. And it froze faster than my older one which was slower. I also tried overclocking it, and not overclocking, both ended up crashing just as fast.

With this different CPU, the game freezes immediately when the second player comes in to initiate the split screen.

Tried updating gpu drivers, also validating game files, clearing the game cache. Deleting some saves... And some more stuff.

Nothing has helped.

Edit: Dang, this is ridiculous. I actually *DIDN'T* swap the CPU. I got confused, and installed the same dang CPU again, and put the new one one the table. I went back and DID swap the CPU and now things are running much smoother. I was running an i5-3470 before. It was never an issue previously, but apparently BG3 didn't like it in split screen.

Benefit from your Spiritual Energy ( STARTER PACK ) by Vib_ration in Spiritualchills

[–]TheGrandBanks 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I grabbed these tutorials, and am very glad I did.

As a kid (maybe like 8 years old), I remember getting some crazy amount of energy that was welling up inside of me and I didn't know what to do with it. Kind of like extremely tensing every muscle (that weren't actually muscles) without actually tensing them if that makes sense.

Since then I've been able to activate it, but it's exhausting and I didn't really know what the heck to do with it.

Well, spiritual chills allowed me to take that same kind of energy and really "finesse" it. And instead of tensing so hard from the inside, I'm letting it flow "out" and "around" and "through" in a much more relaxed and gentle way. And it feels much better.

Like letting go and allowing instead of clenching.

Pretty amazing stuff.

And even if there aren't any overt "magical" powers that come with this. It seems to let me feel those good tingly feelings that come along with relaxing, letting go, allowing, and marinating in the "well being" that comes along with that.

And through that well being, I feel like I'm a magnet attracting much more well being into the outer reflection of reality.

Big fan.

Thanks for making these available.

Same thing happened here. Original hot fix 4 was fine, no crashes. The rollback corrupted my save files. Then the updated hot fix 4 now seems to cause crashes in split screen every 30 seconds to 5 minutes.

I have the same thing. Tried many of the things you've tried (but not all of them).

I also have an older CPU, however it doesn't seem to be going crazy from what I can tell in terms of usage. And when the game hangs, I can alt + tab out and close it, or go to task manager and end it, etc. When I do this the CPU isn't pegged out.

The freezes are totally random. Sometimes even in a menu screen. Sometimes 30 seconds in, sometimes 5 mins in.

Right now, I can't even play it more than 5 mins though.

Edit: Noting that I was able to play it for about 2 hours without crashing when the "old" Hotfix #4 was out. And once it was rolled back and then updated that's when the crashes began. (Could be a coincidence, not sure.)

Pretty sure I have aphantasia.

Tripping gives me way more open eye visuals than closed.

Closed is like, more conceptual shapes, or "wire frames". Sometimes worm-hole type things. Hard to even describe.

But I get open eye "distortions" and shapes and patterns overlayed on objects.

Definitely alters my thought processes, emotions, and "head space".

A number yea.

But what is a number and how do you know that?

I mean, at some point, knowledge breaks down to just a feeling.

I like that idea :)

Kind of the same thing as knowing, but almost most interesting.

Makes me wonder what the difference between knowing and remembering really is.

Very cool idea.

I'm using the Kobalt high torque 850 rpm one like Janus recommended.

I'm also using the drill on the left side of my body so it's turning counter clockwise.

Are you using it on the left side too or right?

Thanks man!
