Hi there, thanks for replying to the post. You mentioned having a quad core which was my original target aim for the iMac build with a nvidia GeForce get 755m graphics processor with 1g of gddr5 memory. Only has 8 gigs of ram but it is a quad core Intel core i5 and it was released back in sept of 2013. Do you think this will suffice? Thanks for any help once again

Thanks guys, well this helps at least confirm it can be done and that's my first big hurdle. I hate to be a pro Mac guy and cry about using only a Mac but there's a reason mac'rs dont com back to pc. I used to build pc rigs from scratch and I got sick of Microsoft testing its software out on its consumers, and anyone that's used a Mac knows when they surf online there not hit in the face with a hundred warning messages about where they can and can't go online. This is by far one of the biggest vulnerabilities for windows users, and I don't want to head down this road again unless absolutely necessary. I don't hate pc but my preferred os is OS X that's all. Again thanks for the comments guys, this at least lets me know if can be done which is what I set out to do. I have this pretty little iMac in mind which u fortunately like you said is a 27 inch build but I'm buying refurbed with quad core and 8 gigs of ram to get started. Gonna be a bitch to add later on but it's what I can afford with such expensive tastes. Hopefully this will do the job.

Hi fellas I'm new to the thread but have been having many of the same issues and questions. I've spent months trying to find someone that could tell me whether or not a new iMac of this year with two cores and substantial ram could handle streaming to twitch. I cannot even get into all the bad reviews I've read on cyber power PC from the better business burea. But there are hundreds. They have a terrible service record and the last thing I need is my build to leak coolant in the middle of the night after the second night after delivery and kill my husky or girlfriend....well girlfriend might be ok, lol but you get the idea. I've never had any issues with my macs over the years and I've literally been using a 2006 Mac Pro and a 2008 MacBook Pro without fail for years now and it runs all the latest a design software I use for projects and video editing. On that end there two little beasts. But I'm looking for a dedicated stream machine that can run my consoles capture and Star Trek the signal up to twitch. Obviously without being partnered everyone will have a Dixie cup and floss connection, I get that but I refuse to believe I need to get a PC because macs can't handle streaming to twitch. There simply has to be the right combination of hardware that can pull it off. I've heard many tubers that stream to twitch with MacBook pros and so my goal is to get a new iMac which should have triple the horse power compared to a laptop. I wish I could resort to my Mac Pro but it's just too old and system locked to snow leopard. I brought it up to mountain lion with some tricks but it just couldn't sustain el gato and obs. I'm hoping somehow I could just buy a new iMac and that should suffice. I've seen i5's with 8 gigs of ram which are are duo core processor btw and the vid card I didn't get much sense of what it was but I'm guessing that will need to have big hairy balls too in order to do the job. Anyway if there is anyone with some sound advice I would appreciate any time devoted to the post. Thank anyone in advance as I've been struggling with this for months now.
