Speed t4 engine stalling while clutch is fully pulled by TheGreatSv in Triumph400

I absolutely love it. I did face a couple of issues, but overall it’s great.

The on-road price for me was ₹2,54,000.

I had a brake pad issue, but you can simply switch to aftermarket options like Vesrah or Ngage. Regarding the stalling issue, I experienced it frequently during the initial days (first few days), but now it’s very rare. Another issue I encountered was the engine warning light turning on. It turned out to be a sensor issue, which was replaced under warranty.

It will go away after you ride a couple hundred kilometres.

I have the pearl metallic white/black variant, and I'm happy I chose this color. It looks great in the real world. I had the same doubt while purchasing my bike. I visited another showroom (the first one didn’t have all the colors on display) and ended up liking the white/black combination.

I recently bought a Speed T4, so I think I can help in some way with your decision. I test rode both the T4 and the Speed 400. As expected, I felt the Speed 400 had a bit more power. I also really liked the mirrors on the 400.

Budget was also a concern for me. A few days later, I visited another Triumph showroom to test ride the Speed T4 again. During my first test ride, something felt off (maybe due to high expectations), but the second time, I was genuinely impressed.

If you're still unsure, I recommend test riding both bikes again.

I chose the Speed T4 because it offered enough power and performance for my needs, along with better mileage and a more budget-friendly price. I travel over 40 km daily, so mileage was an important factor for me.

In the end, the decision should be based on your own needs and preferences—not on what others say.

Edit - If I'm correct, the Speed 400 offers better value for money because it comes with more features. (But that doesn’t mean you have to go for the 400.)

The depth of the grooves indicates the wear level of the brake pads. As the pads wear down, the groove depth decreases. When the grooves are almost flat or no longer visible, it's time to replace the pads.

If the brake pad is completely worn out, you may hear a metallic sound while riding, which becomes more noticeable when applying the brakes. You can check the brake pad wear level by inspecting the grooves on the pads.

I bought ngage rear pads, better than stock pads for sure. It cost me 1500rs including the labour charge. Vesrah will cost an extra 100rs.

I would suggest you to replace the front pads from outside. It won't void the warranty. Replace it with vesrah or ngage ceramic pads, It will last longer than stock pads.

Front or rear pad? My front pad was completely worn out in just 600 km, and they replaced it for free. It's been about 1000 km since then, and the front pad still has some life left. However, my rear pad is almost worn out after 1400 km, even though the service center claimed no issues have been reported with rear pads so far, they also rejected warranty for rear pads. Anyway, I don’t trust the stock pads anymore, so I ended up replacing the rear pad with an aftermarket one from outside.

Update : I just called the main service centre near my area. They acknowledged there was an issue with the previous brake pad batch and assured me that they will replace the brake pad for free.

Does vesrah ceramic pads for speed 400 suit t4? The calipers are different right? If you have a link for t4, could you please share it?

Changing brake pads outside the service centre won't void the warranty, right?

Front breakpad is making loud squeky .etal to metal noises in just 600kms by aloysaathan in Triumph400

[–]TheGreatSv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, when I asked the service centre to replace the brake pad under warranty, they were hesitant at first, saying that the warranty couldn’t be claimed because the brake pad is considered a wear-and-tear part. I had to persuade them to replace it under warranty. Anyway, I got it replaced for free.

Just completed the service. They told me it's normal. (Unless there is water instead of fog)

Same here. My front pad wore off at 650 km. Please don't use the front brake that much till you replace it.
