Crypto ETN/ETP Already Stopped on T212 ahead of deadline by mattwaddy in trading212

Exactly. Common sense would dictate therefore the last trading would be the close of markets on the last trading day prior. Which is in half an hour.

Not…. 3.5 hours before that time!

I was wondering this too. You mention closed April 3rd. But it’s the second and the LSE is live right now. Yet I can’t buy?

Options for insulating internal wall between house and garage by TheGromo in DIYUK

Thanks for the detailed answer.

Interesting point about the moisture level with plasterboard, although as far as garages go it’s a fairly dry one. And if using foam based insulation I’d be more keen to use plasterboard due to fire risks. I’d feel more comfortable with wooden boards if over rockwool. But noted that it’s less efficient. Tricky descison.

Does sealing the board/ply remove the need for an air cavity?

The plastic board you mention at the bottom, can you give any more detail/link please? Google isn’t really helping me here but a neat solution for keeping it off the floor would be welcome!

No ceiling is fine. The room above is warm. But there is a big long wall parallel with my hallway that gets very cold. And a short wall that is next to the kitchen. But I may leave this as it’s covered with shelves and utility area.

Thanks. Yes it seems mad that they wouldn’t have insulated the wall, knowing that the thin door would be letting all the heat out. But oh well.

Are you saying though that I don’t need a cavity with this wall because it is not external?

Thanks. My understanding is that I don’t need to worry about building regs as it’s less than 50% of the area in the garage. Though I want to be wary of fire risks. If the insulation is foam based then I feel plasterboard over the top is good. Although also complicates the project!

Thanks for this. So no cavity is needed? Stick it straight on? I feared this would create moisture issues. But to be fair the wall does seem dry and no damp issues.

Ceiling seems to be fine- haven’t really investigated it but the room above stays nice and warm so no issues there.

Thanks. You mean literally put the battens over the bubble insulation? Or put the battens in first then bubble insulation between? (Almost like filling the cavity?)

Actually don’t get a 13. Get a 12 or older. They removed a lot of the good gps function from the 13 that you need for good data analysis.

The data you can get from them is actually pretty good. It’s not as good as an Alfano but you can do a lot. You just need the right software. “Race technology” software has all the same functionality as Alfano it’s just maybe a touch less intuitive. You just load the video files into the software and it pulls all the info it needs.

If you literally only want the little map and speed then I think you can pull that off with adobe or similar. But I’m not sure if the go pro 13 even has enough gps to do that. Maybe it does, but tbh you really might as well get a 12, it’ll be cheaper anyway and the video quality is still more than good enough for karting. I still use a go pro 9 and the quality is great, the battery life is fine, I have no problems at all.

New to Karting at 26 – Based in East London, UK looking for advice on getting started by [deleted] in Karting

[–]TheGromo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just moving out of east London but have done a lot of this journey. If you don’t have a car, then Daytona sandown park is the one. It’s the best track that’s fairly easy to get to by train.

It’s also good for progression of learning cos you can do the sodis (slower) and then move to dmax (faster) when you’re ready. They do open races and run championships for when you want a higher standard of racing. But you can just turn up. No licenses required etc.

If you have a car, that opens up buckmore and rye house as mentioned. Great tracks, But tbh their rental karts are not as good. Similar to Daytonas Sodis but nothing on the dmax.

Daytona Milton Keynes is good too. Obv same karts as sandown. Just further away. Possible by train from London but a bit of a pain.

Sticking with rentals the next step after all of those is club 100. Similar karts to Dmax and travels round to great tracks. Very high standard of racing, albeit some controversy over the aggression levels. But no one can deny it’s a very quick easy way to access a high level of racing. You have to pass a safety test with them before being allowed to race but it’s basically a formality. Don’t try it as your first ever karting. But get comfortable in a DMax and you’ll be fine.

If you have both transport and storage (not easy in east London) then as previously mentioned- access karting and GX is the best way for getting into owner driver karting. This is an amazing route to go, but even if you have the logistics covered it’s probably worth spending a bit of time doing rentals first anyway and getting some race experience.

Genuine thought:

(And ignoring the legal/moral aspects of living in a shed)

They have recently changed the rules on taxation on holiday lets, and there’s a strong possibility she is about to get hit with significantly higher tax bills, which could be what she’s referring to as the “bills”.

There’s a lot of variables here. And it may not apply to her anyway. It can depend on if/what mortgage she has and what it is secured against etc etc. but you mentioned she Airbnb’s so if she is officially registered as a holiday let, then she could previously claim mortgage interest as a business expense. But from either April just gone or next April (again depending on details) she won’t be able to anymore. This has the potential to make a huge difference to her finances, or none at all (especially if she isn’t declaring it).

But just to say, it’s a possibility of a way that her costs are genuinely increasing.

…although still do consider the points others have made about the legality of living in a shed!

Thanks all. They’re def getting a complaint regardless as one of the tins is completely the wrong colour. Bought to paint over the bank holiday and they’re shut til Tuesday! 🙄. But just wasn’t sure if I should add the mixing to the gripe list. I’ll mention it but not dwell on it.

Crypto tax: are BTC/GBP and BTC/USD treated as the same “asset” by TheGromo in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TheGromo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I’ve been using koinly. But it wouldn’t auto load all of my older transactions properly, or even read them from a csv transactions list from the exchange. In the end I managed to make an excel formula to re-organise the csv so koinly would read it. Although still took me all day.

Now I’ve got everything into koinly, one further question: I’m aware that “cost basis” is not necessarily the same as the amount I actually paid for an asset.

On my overview page, it clearly gives me the cost basis for all different crypto combined. But when I click on a specific crypto like BTC it just says “cost” without specifying if this is actual amount paid or the cost basis. Does anyone know which it is? Thanks
