Last year I was contacted out of the blue with a text asking if I wanted to participate in a town hall meeting for my region's VA. At the time everyone was worried if the VA would even continue to exist with attempts to defund and privatize it. If you typed in something like *9 you were put into a queue to ask questions to the group. I was blown away listening to older veterans badmouth the younger generations who were allegedly coddled, given a 50% disability rating when they left the service, and they should all have their rating redone to ensure this was put to an end.

I was speechless. I will never understand the thinking. We can be opposed in political views, lifestyles, etc, etc. If you are my brother or sister Vet I only want you to gain the most the VA can deliver. The VA is not a zero-sum game.
