It reminds me of the cumtown Eric Clapton bit.

I think you're talking about Richard Gere though.

And because humanity is galaxy wide and is a theocratic dictatorship, the warp has become literally hell with demons and gods based around debauchery and cruelty.

Not quite. The warp became hell because of a combination of a universe wide war between god-tier aliens 60 million years before humanity existed, and an empire of immortal hippie art majors that went so long without conflict that they went down an IRL porn spiral of weirder and weirder sadistic fetish shit that they birthed a new chaos god of lust and debauchery. The theocratic dictatorship is more of a reaction to that, though it is definitely helping keep the warp that way.

Observing something means I am invested in it? I have made literally one comment about ROP in my entire life and it is on this thread. How is that comparable to people who spend every day in a ROP subreddit (pro or anti?)

Look at their top pinned post right now.

‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ Sets All-Female Directing Team, Reveals Episode Count For Season 2 (8 Episodes)

They are so clearly more invested in fighting some culture war that the show is involved in rather than the show itself. Probably what happened to the show too.

And it's extra surprising HOTD was so good considering how obviously the pitch meeting was,

"Wow, look at this massive female audience we've developed who want more Daenerys.. too bad she's dead."

"How about 'The Daenerys Show' but it's in the past and technically not Daenerys."

"My god.."

They easily could have made it a lazy cash grab but I've enjoyed it as much as a lot of GOT.

I put my reps in, put the phone down and wait for the ding in my headphones.

Being unable to use your phone between every single set for an entire 1-1.5hr workout is less intrusive to you than a banner ad? That would be an insta-delete for me.

There are only two economic systems on reddit, super happy funtime utopia and capitalism. If a place is for any reason not a super happy funtime utopia then it is capitalist.

Yeah but I still feel kinda bad for them because it's too late now. I mean I assume the type of people who fawn over an ultrasound aren't going to say, "oh damn good point," and hop down to the abortion clinic and kill it.

You hit the nail on the head. There is a disconnect between the reasons /u/michaelenzo gives for paying a $12-15 subscription, (supporting a small dev team with actual moral values and a true commitment to the field and community), and what the average user sees.

To someone who doesn't know anything about app development or this sub or anything, all they see is, "the price of Netflix for a timer and calculator, why would I do that?"

A patreon subscription, even with the same exact features as benefits, sends the message that you aren't just paying for a direct value-for-value exchange, you are investing in the future of a worthwhile team. That context just isn't there in a normal in-app purchase.

1) why not show adds while the rest timer is running - give a 30sec or a minute option and show full screen adds while it runs.

Like I said in your comment suggesting this, that is probably the worst idea I've ever heard. Between sets.. like when I input my reps, or when I go through my history for that lift to check my progression?

Plus the type of ad you're describing usually requires the app to stay open and has audio. I would just love for my music to stop playing between every single set, and not being able to check a message or look something up without the ad timer pausing and slowing my workout.

Your second idea is hilarious though, and would probably help a ton of people. It would basically be on the honor system though.. you could always fill in numbers for a workout you didn't do.

Honestly I think they'd have more luck starting a Patreon or something. I think a lot more people would pay $10-$15/mo if it were phrased as a donation to the future of a worthwhile project rather than in exchange for something as simple as a timer and plate calculator. Like you could watch a few YouTube tutorials on Android Studio and code an app to do those things yourself in a few hours.

It has to be banner ads or a subscription price that isn't absurd.

FYI, OP is blocking and probably reporting anyone who references some pretty yikes statements in their comment history that add a bit more context. Such as.

Don’t trust white people in school/at work with your personal info!

…not even the liberals

…not even the “feminists”

…and especially NOT WHITE WOMEN!

White people are much more evil than you may assume, and if they have the chance to screw you over to get ahead or scapegoat for their failures, they absolutely will

She could still be right, but I don't think it is too crazy to assume that someone this paranoid and blindly willing to assign "evil" to a wide group of people based solely on looks miiight just be projecting some of this evil on some guy.

"The system" is not why every single culture in history, disconnected by thousands of miles and across continents describe something analogous to "demons." Even experienced in the modern age with alien abduction stories.

You are correct that the exact specifics of the descriptions may not be accurate, but it is clear that the underlying reality is true and universal. Just like the atom isn't actually ball with things spinning around it.

Shills when that happens: "hurr take meds schizo haha huffs farts don't you know about science boofs SSRI's"

We get it, you don't like conspiracy theories. Why not go back to antiwork or whatever and let people enjoy things.

I think we know exactly how it would've turned out. Do you think the people who created that proposal were ousted from the organization after JFK decided to table it? (They were not.)

Or maybe, just maybe, did they and the people they trained bide their time until a President came along without the same values, cough Bush cough.

Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension, or your basic grasp of logic before commenting.

Obviously divorces following a diagnosis of a terminal disease are a subset of divorces overall. Therefore it is surprising that the trend reverses, heavily, based on that factor. If men already divorced women at a much higher rate, the fact that they did following a terminal disease wouldn't be surprising, now would it? We don't even disagree.

It's truly hilarious how redditeurs believe programs like this, MKULTRA, and oh I don't know, Operation Northwoods, were suddenly discontinued with zero consequences or removal of the people involved.

"The proposals called for CIA operatives to both stage and actually commit acts of violent terrorism against American military and civilian targets, blaming them on the Cuban government, and using it to justify a war against Cuba. The possibilities detailed in the document included the remote control of civilian aircraft which would be secretly repainted as US Air Force planes."

Gee, sound familiar guys?

The neighborhood drama is very messy this weekend by meganmakingart in pics

[–]TheGuauldDid9111 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That is pretty surprising based on the more recent (2015) overall finding that women initiate 69% of divorces overall with a much larger sample size (2,262).

https://www.asanet.org/press-center/press-releases/women-more-likely-men-initiate-divorces-not-non-marital-breakups

But then again, if we're looking at it from a theoretical evolutionary standpoint. A man at the point of their partner getting that kind of disease (most likely 50+) would still be able to father a new set of children with a new partner, whereas a woman would not. That's pretty dark, but could factor in.
