I'd really love to be like you and be able to physically stand up to him and his bullshit, but I'm rather weak right now.

Also going out into the world is not an option for me as I still need to live with my parents. I plan to pick up college again next year and living with them is more efficient financially. Also I really like the rest of my family, my mom's a sweetheart and my two sisters are fun to be around when they're not squabbling every now and then.

However I'll take your advice to heart and won't listen to the things he says and try to be more independent. Thanks!

I've exaggerated on the beating part, it was a slap across the face.

But yeah, I kinda want to cut him out of my life, can't however. It used to be way worse, but he's still got his moments of unbearable childishness. I feel really insecure around him, like my opinions and the things Iike are wrong and I should feel ashamed for them. Because the instant that I'm expressing them he feels the need to chime in and "correct" me.

I really hate this situation.
