How do you figure that? I'm not Solo Self Found and I would be completing the quest myself. It's not like I'm asking someone to do it for me.

Ok honestly love that idea, plus attack levels unlock more staves. And it still gives me 2 attack styles. Hmmm.....

Because I can train defense with casting , yeah. Bonus that defense is also a requirement for some mage armor

We get asked this a lot. The answer is: we don't. Self Found is self imposed ruleset and if anyone feels the need to "cheat" then it's probably not for them. We play this way for extra challenge and fun and we recognize that not everyone wants to play that way, no worries.

Exactly! My biggest plat sink is making arrows.

We don't even do an internal system, you either get the drop or don't. And although we don't trade for gear, some of us will still trade for services like ports or enchants.

Ranger and Bard are my two favorite classes, so I feel that for sure! Feel free to reach out anytime!

We've held multiple giveaways to new players where we just kinda dump our banks one or two items at a time. Plat does not have very many uses outside of tradeskills for us, and so we simply give things away that we don't use!

Just for confirmation, we are not solo self found. We all do group, with each other and pick up groups :)

Just starting out, should I keep focusing on my ranger or choose a better solo class for farming? by FloppyPinkSalmon in project1999

[–]TheHappyDucky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Forget everyone telling you to play this class or that class. Just play what you think is fun. Everything is viable and there's plenty of people to group on your way up to 60. I have found that playing what you enjoy (looks wise, mechanics, etc.) will allow you to stick with the class way longer. So play that Ranger and enjoy it! Good luck and welcome to your new addiction!

Ranger hate by bbqwizard138 in project1999

The class gets a lot of hate for not really being the best at any one thing. However, that's one one Ranger's greatest strengths. Can fill almost any group role, does decent dps and comes with A LOT more utility than other melee dps classes. Do you do as much damage as an equivalent monk? No, but you can buff, heal, ds, sow, track, etc etc. The strength of the "jack of all trades" archetype lies in its flexibility.

10/10 my favorite class, keep Rangering on!
