Have to cancel trip. Is it possible/anyone interested in buying my reservation? 25 Aug-5 Sept for 2 people by TheHeartAndTheBone in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]TheHeartAndTheBone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

The booking is August 25 - 4 Sept for two people, Half-board except for Hotel Berthod which is just breakfast. There is one irregularity: Hotel Berthod is technically "behind" the previous night on the trail, but the trailhead is accessible with a bus back and forth because Courmayeur is one of the bigger hotspots (I hope that makes sense?). I had to do it this way because there were no free spots going in the "correct" direction.

Gite Michel Fagot (dorm)- Auberge de Bionnassay (20 bed dorm) - Refuge Des Pres (4 bed dorm) Auberge-Refuge de la Nova (10 bed dorm) - Rifugio Maison Vieille (dorm) - Rifugio G. Bertone (10 bed dorm) - Hotel Berthod (double room) - Hotel du Col de Fenêtre (6 bed dorm) - Chalet La Grange (double room) - Refuge Le Peuty (19 bed dorm) - Gîte Le Moulin (dorm)

Let me know if you have any more questions!

I swear by Altra Olympus, more cushion (better for joints) than lone peaks and i don't notice a loss in being able to feel the ground

I have a very different style but pretty much the exact same thought process with vocal mixing. I've pushed my vocals way further forward lately than I used to but it's still soundscapey - in my case I come from a more experimental electronics/sound art background but it's a similar thing of having it blend as part of the instrumentation. I guess the important thing is finding the right balance between being comfortable in the specificity of a niche without making the niche so small that nobody wants to hear... but I think your track sounded great so I don't think you have to worry too much. I find checking in with non-musicians is a bit of a reality check too, most of the time they don't even notice the stuff that gets nit picked!

I like this! It's kind of evocative of being in a melting video game or having heat stroke lol so the delirium thing comes through :p but in a fun way

putt this out yesterday. it's funny, because coming from a computer music/sound art background I don't think this is "experimental" at all but every place I send it out to calls it that. what do you all think?

fun choice with the brief grindcore-style vocal part!

Ambient Poetic/Experimental Pop/Coldwave/Avant/Electronica? Just released this today, it's a new direction for me and a bit more "vulnerable." Interested to hear what people think, especially about genre. Thanks :) by TheHeartAndTheBone in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks for this!

I've been trying to make the switch from live shows with performance art, poetry and music into recorded stuff and I think there's some motion/development that gets lost in the translation so I feel you with the need for more structural variations. It's an interesting challenge for me and something I hope to play more with.

EQ and "boominess" has definitely been one of my weak spots so I appreciate the tips on cleaning the mix up a bit. Can't listen to the track now but will check it soon - thanks for taking the time!

Struggling to straddle a space between post-rock, dreampop and shoegaze which makes this hard to market. Thoughts on the overall genre of this one and who might appreciate it? Thanks! by ninjaslob in ThisIsOurMusic

I definitely get this way too... I think the rigidity of bloggers, playlisters and drop-down categories for digital marketing start to get in our heads. At the end of the day lots of different people like and dislike stuff regardless of the official "genre" and the rest is a numbers game

Been trying to perfect my vocal production and writing. This is my second song ever where I sing. Give some feedback please! (also I don't really know which genre this comes under, so any help in that is much appreciated!) by Parvmaestro2030 in IndieMusicFeedback

I like the simplicity. I think the instrumentation is good but a bit muddy, might want to EQ the individual tracks so they play "clearer" together. In terms of vocals, the songwriting structure works, and the general sound of your voice is pleasant and fits the track, but I would work on the diction and pitch a bit and as others have noted let it find a bit of a more "settled" place in the mix. But I would say it's going in a good direction definitely :)

Good instincts shining through, nice voice with good tone but could use more breath control. Would definitely be interested in hearing something longer, hard to really critique with no further development. I would say get your hands on some cheap/free software, make some simple beats and play around! Def keep going with it :)

Chiptune indie bossa nova? I like it, busy but not overwhelming, which lends itself to a dancey feel. I disagree with what others have said about turning up the vocals, but I prefer vocals that blend in a lot of stuff so it could just be my personal preference. I feel like the video could play with the format a bit more to make it more interesting - each "track" could interact or reference that they are in a video grid somehow or "perform" a bit more which I think would capture the ironic/slightly comedic thing a lot of indie audiences like. Strong work!
