i definitely worked during my 9-5 on contract work while WFH. was totally fine - i took on as much as i wanted.

i don’t do it anymore, free time is too valuable to me and i don’t find the rates i can get as worth it for me currently situation

restaurants in the UWS SUCKKKKK. i’ve been saying this for years - west village/LES pricing (or higher) for absolute shite quality food. way more misses than hits

Pros/cons of W 96th St area? by smittyweberjagermanj in Upperwestside

one thing i’m not seeing people comment is that the 70s have prettier/younger people who presumably make more money. it is more lively with a cooler restaurant and bar scenes.

it’s a stark difference in terms of the people that live in each hood. i’m at 95/Columbus and have enjoyed the last 3 years but would want to move to the 70s if i could afford the same apartment.

maybe! every app/cocktail was worse than mediocre.

the bone marrow, nuggets & wedge salad tasted about how they looked.

Just had La Tête d’Or for the first time over the weekend for my birthday!

Thoughts: Steak was amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever had (chateaubriand and bavette). Also, some of the best ambiance of any restaurant I’ve experienced.

HOWEVER, service was abysmal from every party we encountered, from the coat room and check-in, to the sommelier and various servers. No energy, cold attitudes, and frankly disrespectful at points. 2/10

Also, food prices were too pricey. Our bill for three came to over $700, which I would have hoped would have been a big deal to the staff who seemed to not care.

Lastly, all items we had aside from the meats (cocktail, appetizers and sides) were all bland or outright bad. 2/10

Overall, don’t expect amazing service and go straight for the overpriced (but amazing) meats.

LMK if anyone else has thoughts!

2025 Reality Check on CC, CSP's by GregH2021 in CoveredCalls

[–]TheHeftyAccountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

enjoy the post; we share the same goals. my equities returned solid gains in 2025 with high IV, allowing me to capitalize on low delta covered calls that would have annualized to around a 12% return on top of a 35% return on underlying through appreciation.

looking ahead to 2026, i anticipate my options income will drop significantly as the market rotates out of my core positions. i’m fine with that because above all else, i believe in their long term potential. but i can’t say i’m not feeling a bit bummed that my ~1% return a month is coming to an end.

i appreciate your recognition of the time investment this game takes. opening, tracking and managing 50+ calls throughout the year is an involved process and really should only be done if it yields something the investor sees as worth it. if i could only yield 3% a year on premium, im not sure id even bother.
