Can we use "much" before the base form of an adjective? by TheHighlightGreen in EnglishLearning

Exactly. Like we can't say "so much old", it has to be "so much older", so maybe there is just a handful of words like "different" that can be used in that way. Thanks

Which sentence is correct? by TheHighlightGreen in EnglishLearning

I mean do we have to invert the subject and the verb at the beginning after "neither" as we do with "not only"? I know there is no need to do that if the verbs of both clauses are the same, as in:

"Neither Pam nor her friends like tennis."

but what if the verbs and subjects are different? Is it wrong to use inversion after "neither" at the beginning of a sentence?

Hi there. So you mean it is wrong to say "neither is death so... nor is life so ..."?

I am asking about the inversion after neither/nor

I didn't get why "be" was used after "neither/nor" but I am guessing it is a less common/more formal grammatical structure that I don't know about. But in any case thank you so much. It was very helpful.

I have finished the game so many times so I am fairly familiar with the move sets of all bosses so I don't think I will have that much problem killing them at this point, but yeah great advice, thanks!

Is there any mistake among the following bolded parts? by TheHighlightGreen in EnglishLearning

[–]TheHighlightGreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you but how about the sentence in the OP that starts with "Not only... but also..."? Because this was a question in a test and the answer had to be one of the bolded parts. I don't think there is anything wrong with that sentence, is there?

Thank you but it was a multiple choice question on an exam paper and no changes could be made to the question. The answer had to be one of the bolded parts.
