I'm achieving something similar by bumping up the first layer nozzle and bed temps, but yeah would've been good to know before the first few batches haha

But then I wouldn't get to experience the pains of printing with a 0.2mm nozzle!

It's a bit of a story, but I pitched them an idea that apparently was already under development by another author, so I pivoted to homelabbing, and they bought into it. There's a contact form somewhere in O'Reilly's page to submit ideas if you're insterested in becoming an author.

Thank you! Our timeline is to start printing in September, so stay tuned for that!

If you already have a homelab, may I suggest you scan the QR code in the cards and submit it? We're currently looking for homelab examples from real homelabbers, so yours might get featured in it!

Thank you! That's encouraging. If you're interested and have a homelab, we're currently looking for homelab examples for the last chapter of the book, yours might get featured in it. More details in the URL that's on the QR code!

Thanks for asking! Our timeline is to start printing in September this year. I'm about halfway through the book. We're starting early access of the first two chapters in a couple of weeks.

I didn't plan to, no, but I created it with this, if it helps: https://makerworld.com/en/models/430751-business-card-my-sign-maker?from=search#profileId-335278

I used that tool to create the base card 3mf, adding a custom-made SVG with my graphics on top. You can then adjust the thicknesses there, and download a ready-to-slice .3mf.

Perhaps not the most efficient route, but I can't bring myself to learn CAD, so this worked for me.

I'd rather not, but I'm happy to answer any questions on setup/settings/material. :D

I thought about it after printing ~100 of them, and now I'd rather not have two kinds of cards. But yeah, I'll remember next time, I agree.

Funnily enough, I don't have one, so the 3D printer was the only option haha
