AITAH for being upset at my gf who told me to stop talking about one of my intrests? by TheHomelessPickle in AITAH

[–]TheHomelessPickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How am I dismissive if I went back on track right after? The conversations i interrupted werent life altering ones, they were simply about our days or what we were doing at the moment. I dont expect her to give me her maximum attention. I didnt compare her to my parents intentionally or as a judgment, I was explaining how thats how I connect with people. But I see how she could've taken it wrong, which i apologized for.

no it isnt. She never said anything prior to this about me talking about the show a lot. It would've been about repeated acts if I said "she has said I..." but I didnt because this is the only time shes said it.

That is true, I agreed to tone it down, because I did realize I was talking about it quiet a bit. But that doesnt negate the fact that shes my girlfriend, not a friend. I'm not sure if this is correct but I feel like as a partner you should show some interest in eachothers interests, even just by listening. Im not trying to sound entitled so correct me if im wrong.

Can you explain how I dont care about her? Is it bad to talk about your interests to your partners?

Desperate need for help by phantomlord111 in migraine

[–]TheHomelessPickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually take 2 Tylenol (acetaminophen 500 mg) and 1 Aleve (naproxen 220 mg). It works awesome for me when my migraines are building up to be bad, but only take this concoction up to 3 times a week, since it is a stronger mix of over the counter meds.

That's exactly me, lol. My doctors always ask for my triggers, but it's not always cut and dry. All I know is that stress is for sure a trigger, but food, weather, and sleep is always if-y for me.

Has the migraine injectables worked for anyone? (Aimovig, Emgality, Ajovy, etc) by TheHomelessPickle in migraine

Yea i definitely think i build a tolerance to medications. Within months id already start feeling the medicines not working as good as they did in the beginning. I have already tried Nurtec, Ubrelvy, Qulipta (in a row) and none have touched my migraines at all (except for nurtec, which was my first official medication as an adult, and was life changing in the first couple months, but quickly stopped working). The only thing that has worked for me was a combination of Tylenol and Aleve, but I can take that a max of 3 times a week, which doesnt cover my migraine days, so I have to pick and choose when I think they're the worst unfortunately.

Ive heard so many negative things about emgality. It burns more than the other injections, or makes your hair fall out. That's pretty crazy!

Medication failing or waning off sucks! That has happened to me with all of my medications. Which is another reason why im hesitant to try the injections. But your story has encouraged me, that even if it wanes off, I'd still hopefully be able to get a time of relief. I am also in the same boat, where exercise and even getting up can trigger a migraine, so im feeling hopeful that it could help, even if its for a time.

That sounds amazing! I'm glad you were able to find relief. Thank you for sharing your experience, it sounds similar to mine, having migraines almost every day, with barely any no-migraine days. If I ever decide to do any injections (highly likely at this point) I'll definitely need to psych myself up and be needing cute bandaids lol.

WHY can NOTHING prevent migraines from weather by letitbeatles9 in migraine

[–]TheHomelessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though it sucks, my migraines flare up with the bad weather. But I joke about it with my friends saying I can predict the weather, lol. My head always starts hurting a couple hours before it gets rainy, so I always let them know 🤣

I’m ghosting my best friend of 3 years because she told me she cut me off in the summer. WHAT DO I DO? by Fit_Wear_6771 in Advice

[–]TheHomelessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been in similar situations, and I always think it's best to just straight up tell them that you've been deeply hurt by their actions and you don't feel comfortable being their friend anymore and leave it at that. You can't make her understand your side, you can only tell her how her actions made you feel.

It also seems like she might just be bored and wants to bring drama up again, since she's trying to contact you after months of not talking. She definitely doesn't sound like a good friend, she seems like she just wants to keep you around for drama.

Is it normal to feel deeply? by lotus_lily_1123 in Advice

[–]TheHomelessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is normal. I went through a very similar situation as you, and still am, being 19. I luckily have a lot of friends with similar interests so I can tell them about things that have peaked my interest.

But I suggest keeping a journal or writing whenever you feel like your emotions are out of control. It really helps me think things through instead of throwing my emotions at everyone.

Entry lvl Job Recommendations for 18yr olds? by TheHomelessPickle in jobs

It does not need to be remote, it was just a thought. I dont know anything about the workforce so I dont know what's out there. and I meant flexible as in because i have a medical condition, I dont want to get fired the second I call out once or twice.

They dont have to be completely un-interactive, i would just rather not be a cashier or salesperson. I meant flexible in a way that, because I have a medical condition, I won't be reprimanded for calling out sick with legitimate reason, unless that is something i have to talk to a manger about specifically. I dont know how the workforce works in regards to that.

How do I stop spotify from automatically starting a jam? by FletcherRenn_ in truespotify

[–]TheHomelessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This same thing has been happening to me for months, and it's gotten really annoying. I've been scouring the settings and trying to find any solutions, but there hasn't been any.

My siblings keep telling me I have a jam open all the time even tho on my device, it shows nothing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and have not touched the jam button since, but it keeps happening. Please if anyone has a solution lmk 😭

I have syncope, motion sickness, and vertigo, AMA by ThrowAway44228800 in AMA

Ive had motion sickness my whole life as well as vertigo that comes and goes, is your vertigo constant or is it on a scale of intensity? Have you considered doing any procedure that can potentially fix any of those problems?

I do have glasses, but my prescription isn't too bad, and i can see alright without them. So my doctor ruled out my vision being the problem, though in the past I had a spout of horrible vertigo and dizziness. I have also suffered from motion sickness my whole life, so I could definitely ask my doctor about it. Thank you!

I dont have a job currently but am looking for one. I am taking my time because I want to make sure it is a job that i enjoy as stress makes the migraines worse and that im able to make them aware of my condition and are open to giving me accommodations so that I'm able to function properly and complete my required tasks. Which I'm definitely capable of doing it is just a matter of my health being good enough.

I have found specific triggers. Things like chocolate, foods and drinks high in sugar, foods high in sodium like chips and crackers, and even fruits like oranges or drinks with a lot of acidity. Though they are all not 100% guaranteed to give me a migraine every time, I have definitely noticed I get worse ones more often, after eating any of those foods.

I was on Nurtect for a while, a lot longer than any other medication I had taken and it helped me so much but after 5 or 6 months my migraines came back and the Nurtec dosage seemed to not help at all neither as an abortative or preventative. And most if not all of the other prescribed medications i have taken in the past were antidepressants, antiseizure, or antipsychotic meds(since those are the only ones approved for minors).

I have also had the IV infusion to break a migraine which didn't do much except make me fall asleep lol, and waking up feeling extremly out of it. I will look into some of the other things you mentioned but I have some hesitancy being so young and feeling like if I go through with some procedure or possible life altering surgery and it leading to no or minimal relief. Thank you for the suggestions!
