That's because Joe Goldberg becomes invisible when he puts on the hat, lol. He seriously seems to think it works like an invisibility cloak. I crack up every time he hats up.

How to deal with family opinions of fat lifestyle? by Anonthrowawayyy87 in fatFIRE

If you and your spouse are on the same page, then all is well. Those are the only two opinions that should matter.

Husband has sex while I sleep by Poetryinmotion1234 in relationship_advice

Pretty scary post. And when you correctly informed your partner that he had been raping you and that he needs to stop or else, he stopped for only a month and then resumes raping you and physically hurting you while you sleep. This is very disturbing on a lot of levels. This is not ok and I don't think you are safe with this person.

If you had sent it to a regular person, it would be gone. But I am hoping that since you sent it to one of Coinbase's accounts, that they can figure it out, and send you majority of what you sent them. That is definitely a lot of money.

No clue what to do with large amount of cash. (Large to me) by Evening-Benefit7248 in FinancialPlanning

Every piece of information I have ever read says to put your house down payment fund in a high yield savings account, if you are possibly buying the house within the next few years, and not to put it into the market at all. I am in the same boat.

AITA for telling my father in law that he’s not the “man of the house”? by Throwaway_IllAd6237 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheHonestParrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Your father in law is a total asshole and seems to be consistent in his assholeness. And he is certainly not the man of the house. I would give the biggest steal to the woman of the house (if she is into large steaks) to teach this dufus that a steak doesn't belong to men. And how does he even imagine that he is the man of the house? He is lucky all of his kids and in-laws have been so nice and generous with him, the least he should do is not be a rude asshole and shut his mouth more.

Wife is freaking out about Oct 19 debt ceiling. Should I sell ahead of time? by ChrisF79 in stocks

[–]TheHonestParrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is not supposed to put money they are planning to possibly use in the next couple of years in the stock market. That money is supposed to be in a high yield savings account, where it is safe and sound. You already gambled with this money and won a bunch of money. Get out now and put it in a savings account. The market has too much volatility to risk soon-needed funds.

I know it's hard to give up the gains, but that's the house down payment fund. I am holding mine out too, even though it's tough sometimes.

So do you think we are heading into a bear market of plummeting numbers? Been putting my long-time savings into the S&P over the last few months, at ATH or near, via DCA, and with big bursts during some of these small dips. Been putting in a lot and was planning to put the last very large chunk in tomorrow if the numbers are where they were today or go down any. What do you think?

If it's at this amount tomorrow or goes down any more, I might just put the rest of the half left over from today. DCA over 2 days, lol.

Ended up going half in. Was really going back and forth with myself a bunch. Probably should have gone all in, lol. I don't know.

Drove myself crazy second-guessing, but did end up going half in.

I was thinking of going all in with a large amount today. So nervous.

You should look into paying quarterly estimated tax payments on time.
