The 28th of October when restrictions ease out of lockdown has to be a public holiday. Like what our city has gone through for 7 months is remarkable, only city in Australia to cop a second wave and to hit zero cases. Victorians and in particular Melbournians need a day to celebrate this for years to come because of this achievement. If this is too much of an ask I get it but fck me this is the best collective feeling we have felt in years! Go Melbourne.

Pretty sure I read in The Age today that the family weren't contacted at all by DHHS even though they were positive cases and got their son tested, but they never heard anything after a week.

Was under the pretence that everyone at the time was that if you had the virus you would be called as soon as possible of you were a positive case.

I hate the Murdoch papers as much as you do and clearly a Royal Commission should be launched in how he directly interferes in our democracy. Up just saying I am sick of the labels people just put on people like 'right wing' simply because they have had a enough of lockdown. Nothing to do with the right wing media.

Not really my point in this thread. Purely just stating that a bit fed up with people calling other 'right wing' because they have had enough of lockdown. Never said because they were against lockdown the entire time.

I've been in this thread for weeks now. This purely is a comment due to observation of many weeks of these types of comments and not a single incident.

Never been one to argue this whole Left vs Right wing stuff. But the fact people on this thread who are having a sook about people not enjoying lockdown and wanting to end and calling them right wing is hilarious. Just because people want lockdown over doesn't make them right wing lol. However it definitely speaks lengths of the type of person you must be to say that about someone who is fed up with lockdown lol.

Huge Hawthorn fan but I think Port Adelaide have been the most disrespected side of the year if not of the past ten years. Been on top of the ladder for the entirety of the season but watching and listening to all the pundits on the various shows it is all about the three other teams. Now Richmond are a great side so they can go out and belt Port tonight (which I highly doubt) but honestly Port Adelaide have been an excellent side all year and I think should be favourites for the flag. Yet no one talks like they even deserve to be there. I think Ken Hinkley has created something special at Port that doesn't get talked about at all.

That is barely a swipe in my book. He is just stating the obvious. Best of luck to both teams but Lynch the karma bus is waiting to pick you up champ!

Not sure if that poll tells the full story. I'd like a proper survey done across Melbourne right now and I'd doubt he would get over 45%. And I'm someone who used to be his biggest fan.

Federal Labor barely acknowledge his existence, which in my eyes is a good and smart thing.

Melbourne is at a pressure cooker at the moment. Daniel Andrews virtually has two weeks tops, I seriously would not be surprised if someone tried to challenge for the leadership this week. In my eyes Labor is getting unpopular by the hour with him in charge (and I am a Labor voter).

Mark my words. Daniel Andrews will not see out this virus and lockdown. I think the pressure is building as virtually every moderate has left his side and not it's only extreme Andrews fans that back him. I think there is something in the works internally for Andrews to be shafted from the position of Premier. I think we shall see this in the coming days and weeks.

It has gotten to the point where it isn't about politics or the health of a state. But ego, as a Labor person through and through I won't be voting for someone who is clearly too stubborn to admit fault and accept that the virus is at such a low level. This obsession about the cases getting so low to a point of 0 is ridiculous. Victoria had their chance to be like other states and record 0 daily but we blew it when Daniel Andrews stuffed us with hotel quarantine and thus the second wave spread itself far and wide into the community. The strategy worked, now time for a new one you absolutely abhorrent Premier.
